Good stuff JimmyD. 'Where have all the good times gone?' I've got that on a David Bowie recording but hadn't realized it was the Kinks.

My favorite of theirs is 'Celluloid Heroes.'

You guys look like badasses!

:)

One question: I always liked the rosewood neck/frets. The maple seems to be a bit slippery and harder to work on. Do you actually prefer the maple fretboard for leads?

So are these punk-type versions of the Kinks songs?

I remember in the summer of 76 my old high school band rhythm player invited to head over to some kid's basement (the kids were still in high school) to jam one night. One of the kids says to me "do you know any Van Halen songs?" I had been up in Montreal for the past 9 months, so had heard nothing about VH, so I asked for song names. The kid says 'You Really Got Me'. I laughed and replied - as I ripped into the riff - "You mean the Kink's You Really Got Me"?

Most people don't know that 'Victoria' actually came from a rock musical that the Kinks were working on called 'Arthur'. When the Who released Tommy, the Kinks realized they'd never be able to compete with it.
