Trump seems to be gaining ground. I've been doing some reading on other sites, I'm seeing more and more people making similar comments. Trump just had a row with NBC and didn't back down, gained more followers. People are seeing this as a breath of fresh air. Most politicians, on both sides, depend on big donors to stay in the race. So they say whatever those donors want them to say, even if it means changing horses in mid stream. Trump seems to be standing his ground so far, not backing down from comments he made even before getting into the race.
The comments about Mexico and illegal immigration are not exactly new, he's been opposed to illegal immigration for a long time, the only difference is recently he's been getting into more specifics.
The incident with NBC is just one shot in a long battle by the media trying to bring Trump down. Both sides don't like him because he speaks the truth and won't back down, but more and more of the people are starting to like Trump because he says what the thinks, doesn't back down, and doesn't pander to big donors. Everyone else is same story different day. Nobody else has proposed an actual plan to stop illegal immigration. Trump did, and it should work. and without the wall he proposed I think.
Plenty politicians try to say what the voters want to hear. The difference is we all know it and we know they will turn their backs on us soon as the election is over and go back to working for corporations and special interest groups. Trump says what he thinks and doesn't back down, and that's resonating with people.
He may not get the nomination, that's probably the last thing establishment republicans want. He goes after both sides and says what they don't want you to hear. Cruz is doing a little of this, speaking out about the corruption and back room deals going on with Obamatrade, he's also the only one who actually did try to do something about repealing Obamacare while the rest of the GOP turned their backs on the voters and handed it to Obama on a silver platter. Cruz is still beholden to major donors...That's the main reason I'm not firmly in his corner. That and the fact that he is still a republican and I don't trust them any more than I do Democrats. Ditto for Trump. As much as I like Trump he's still a Republican and I have to be wary of that.
Still, I'm liking Trump more every time something else comes out...Sure he's brash, egotistical...but so far I can't come up with a thing he's said that wasn't 100% right...and so far he hasn't backed down once...and he seems to be genuinely concerned about what's best for this country...that's worth watching.
I'm a member of the BOMB SQUAD.
If you see me running, better catch up!
