Maryland has the some of the toughest gun laws in the nation. The owners of illegal guns have upped the murder rate in Baltimore to the highest rate in 40 Years. "More people were killed in May in Baltimore than in any other single month since the 1970s. In fact, 55 people have been killed since May 1 alone, when Baltimore City State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby first announced criminal charges against the six officers allegedly involved in Freddie Gray’s death." http://conservativetribune.com/baltimor ... ar-record/

Now the politicians are beginning to see the light. They want to relax gun legislation in order for citizens who wish to carry legally for self preservation to be able to defend themselves against the thugs. They know that when citizens are armed, cowardly thugs are more cautious and criminals Legally armed citizens equate to lower crime rates. A proven fact in states that have more lenient concealed carry laws. The reason? Criminals never know who can fight back and who can not. Most criminals are cowards that prey on the vulnerable. Fact.

Maryland has some of the strictest gun laws in the nation including: restricted magazine capacity, a roster of acceptable guns, restrictions on personal sales, handgun licensing and mandatory waiting periods.

Baltimore, in spite of its strong gun control, is one of America’s most dangerous cities. Calls for violence against the police were made by nationally-known gangs operating in the rioted area. (RELATED: Bloods, Crips Team Up To ‘Take Out’ Baltimore Cops)

Md. Lawmakers Pushing For Gun Law Change

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ)–Controversial legislation. It could soon be easier for you to get a gun. Some Maryland lawmakers want to add self-defense as a reason to issue gun permits.
Tracey Leong explains the big changes they’re proposing.
Lawmakers are pushing for a change, claiming the current gun laws are outdated and don’t serve the public.

Maryland is known to have some of the strictest gun laws in the country.

“We’re going to get some of these crazy laws off the books, we’re going to restore rights and we’re going to make this a safer place to live,” said Del. Kevin Hornberger.
ome lawmakers are now working to wipe out these laws.
Leong: “Senator, can you tell me why you want to make changes to the current gun laws?”

“I think it’s really important. Maryland puts a lot of initiative on guarding money. Most of the people that have hand gun permits have it because they carry cash, yet you can’t get a handgun permit because you feel like you’re in need or your family is in danger. And to me, the fact that money is more important than family is ludicrous,” said Senator Wayne Norman, District 35.

Under current law, wear and carry permits are issued to an adult who has a good and substantial reason to wear, carry, or transport a handgun, such as finding that the permit is necessary as a reasonable precaution against danger.

This includes being a business owner, armored car guard or for personal protection with documented threats.

The change would include self defense, meaning more people could get gun permits.

“It would just be helpful to know you have a handgun if something happens. The police can’t be everywhere,” said Hunter Smith.

But not everyone agrees with the changes, some believe it should stay as is.

Vincent DeMarco is President of Marylanders to Prevent Gun Violence. He’s afraid changing the laws could have dangerous consequences.

“You don’t want to have too many people out there on the streets with guns. Maybe a car or little incident turns into a killing. We want to make sure Marylanders are safe. And that’s why the state police has had this authority since 1972, and its working, and we’re confident it’s going to keep working,” DeMarco said.

Maryland is currently one of the least armed states and this bill for change has bipartisan support.

If the measure passes, the change would go into effect this October.

Democrat-Led Baltimore Just Shattered a 40-Year-Old Record, But It’s Nothing to Brag About

http://conservativetribune.com/baltimor ... ar-record/

Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and her fellow Democrats might want to consider a change in career, because, ccording to the latest reports, her city just shattered a 40-year-old record.

More people were killed in May in Baltimore than in any other single month since the 1970s.

In fact, 55 people have been killed since May 1 alone, when Baltimore City State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby first announced criminal charges against the six officers allegedly involved in Freddie Gray’s death.

Many of those killed have been children, including 7-year-old Kester Browne, who was fatally shot along with his mother, Jennifer Jeffrey-Browne, 31.

Murders in Baltimore are reportedly on the rise because police officers in the city chose to stop engaging in active-policing after they were mocked, embarrassed and humiliated by both the liberal mainstream media and Baltimore’s race rioters — both of whom believe the police (and not the criminals) are the ones who need to change.

But as Rev. Lisa Weah explained to reporters, “Without law enforcement, there is no order.”

In fact, as soon as the police pulled back, “the number of arrests plunged, and the murder rate doubled in a month.”

Furthermore, during the riots that ensued after Freddie Gray’s death, hundreds of thousands of doses of opiate drugs were stolen from local pharmacies. These drugs are now being distributed throughout the city by violent gangs that are battling “for market share from a finite base of potential customers.”

There have also been reporting of “scores of onlookers with cellphone cameras” surrounding Baltimore officers as they try to do their jobs and investigate crime.

Meanwhile, President Barack Obama’s Justice Department has launched an investigation into the Baltimore Police Department (H/T Pat Dollard).

Given the way that Baltimore’s police officers have been treated by the media, federal government, Democrat-controlled local government and city residents, it’s really no surprise that officers decided to stop engaging in active policing.

Why would they put their all into patrolling neighborhoods when everybody acts like they’re the problem?

Fell right into that one.
Why don't you go out and start a stable business that hire all these new "AMERICANS" instead of just holding down a job.
18 trillion in debt. A dollar based only on the value of the American work force. An American work force counting on American companies that are counting on stable laws... American companies becoming foreign companies and then losing American jobs...

The difference between you and me is that every dollar you make is a handout from your "JOB"
EVERY DOLLAR I MAKE WAS CREATED BY ME. I AM FREE, YOU ARE A SLAVE!!!
