When Science Doesn’t Matter to Liberals
Posted on May 27, 2015 by Gary DeMar Filed under Immigration, Liberalism, Propoganda, Science

Liberals claim they’re all about science. Once a liberal makes a scientific declaration, there can be no disputing its claimed conclusions.

We’ve seen this type of close mindedness in the area of evolution and climate science. Evolutionists refuse to entertain any questioning of the underlying assumptions of evolution (e.g., abiogenesis) and climate change models.

Another area where scientific claims can’t be questioned is in the debate over same-sex sexuality. The claim has been made, and millions of Americans believe it, that same-sex attraction is genetic. Numerous studies have shown that there is no scientific validity to the claim.

Liberals have their fair share of science deniers. The sinister effect of their denials is that they become law and force all of us to live under the lies that are often put into law.

The following is from Life Site News:

______________________

For the first time, a majority of Americans say that homosexuals are "born that way."

According to the latest Gallup poll, 51 percent of Americans say that people are born gay or lesbian, while only 30 percent say outside factors such as upbringing and environment determine sexual orientation.

However, science would not bear that out. No fewer than eight major studies from around the world have found homosexuality is not a genetic condition.

Peter Sprigg of the Family Research Council says that these numerous, rigorous studies of identical twins have now made it impossible to argue that there is a "gay gene." If homosexuality were inborn and predetermined, then when one identical twin is homosexual, the other should be, as well.

Yet one study from Yale and Columbia Universities found homosexuality common to only 6.7 percent of male identical twins and 5.3 percent of female identical twins.

The low rate of common homosexuality in identical twins – around six percent – is easily explained by nurture, not nature.

Researchers Peter Bearman and Hannah Brueckner concluded that environment was the determining factor. They rejected outright that "genetic influence independent of social context" as the reason for homosexuality. "(O)ur results support the hypothesis that less gendered socialization in early childhood and preadolescence shapes subsequent same-sex romantic preferences."

"Less gendered socialization" means, a boy was without a positive father figure, or a girl was without a positive mother figure.

In light of the evidence, Sprigg said simply, "No one is born gay."

Psychiatrists William Byne and Bruce Parsons summarize the science: "Critical review shows the evidence favoring a biologic theory to be lacking. ... In fact, the current trend may be to underrate the explanatory power of extant psychosocial models." In other words, homosexuality is a psychological malady, not something people are born with.

Some homosexuals openly admit that their lifestyle is a choice. Lindsay Miller, who describes herself as a "queer woman," complained in The Atlantic monthly, "I get frustrated with the veiled condescension of straight people who believe that queers 'can't help it,' and thus should be treated with tolerance and pity.”

“I was not born this way,” she wrote. “The life I have now is not something I ended up with because I had no other options. Make no mistake – it's a life I chose.”

"It's time to send the 'born that way' myth to the graveyard of misbegotten ideas, buried in the plot next to the myth that the sun revolves around the earth,” Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association has written.

And yet, the myth continues to gain believers, even among conservatives. According to the new Gallup poll, Republicans are divided on whether Americans are born homosexual (40 percent) or whether same-sex orientation is determined by environmental factors (36 percent).

In previous polls, a majority of Republicans have said homosexuality is not innate. Now, according to this poll, they are equally likely to view sexual orientation as inherent, rather than a choice or a consequence of how people were raised. In all, 62 percent of Democrats believe homosexuals were born that way.

The issue affects Republican politicians who, like all politicians, base their public statements on the polls. Presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson recently apologized for merely suggesting people choose to be gay or lesbian. Sen. Marco Rubio has said that, while he does not support same-sex "marriage," he believes that people are born gay or lesbian.

Fischer says our society and particularly our presidential candidates should make policy based on medical and scientific reality, not polls. "If homosexual behavior is a choice, then our public policy can freely be shaped by an honest look at whether this behavioral choice is healthy and should be encouraged, or unhealthy and dangerous and consequently discouraged," he wrote.

"I notice Slacker never responds to this trash he posts. I guess he can't find anything to copy and paste as a response."

First of all I do not post for liberal discussion. I post things that are hidden by the regimes propaganda machine. I do not answer liberal posts because I seldom read them. I post what I believe to be truth, and truth is not widely spread.

The liberal positions are dictated by the regime and they only deny truth calling evil good and good evil. I hear liberal propaganda on Radio, on TV, in the papers, from the mouths of spokes people, from liberal blogs, from liberal posts here, from the trolls, all saying the same thing almost word for word. It is propaganda. Why reply to that? You have nothing new to add that I haven't heard before.

Why would I need to read it here? My post was in response to liberal propaganda, so in all actuality I answered your post before you made it. Since you only parrot what the propaganda machine wants you to believe.

I believe in a creator. Here is what he has to say about the perversion of homosexuality. Obviously he says they are not born that way.

Rom 1:25 They gave up the truth about God for a lie, and they worshiped God's creation instead of God, who will be praised forever. Amen. Rom 1:26 God let them follow their own evil desires. Women no longer wanted to have sex in a natural way, and they did things with each other that were not natural. Men behaved in the same way. They stopped wanting to have sex with women and had strong desires for sex with other men. They did shameful things with each other, and what has happened to them is punishment for their foolish deeds. Since these people refused even to think about God, he let their useless minds rule over them. That's why they do all sorts of indecent things.

1Co 6:9 Don't you know that evil people won't have a share in the blessings of God's kingdom? Don't fool yourselves! No one who is immoral or worships idols or is unfaithful in marriage or is a pervert or behaves like a homosexual will share in God's kingdom. Neither will any thief or greedy person or drunkard or anyone who curses and cheats others.

That is the wisdom of God and not the wisdom of this world. Look at the shape this world is in because of the wisdom of man. Nuff said.

Did you read this article you posted? Its a good example of why we just can't take the so-called "science" seriously. From the article:

t Xq28, a region of the X chromosome, might play a role in determining whether a man was gay.

Hamer told Science of the new study, adding that the research “clarifies the matter absolutely.”

Hamer only studied 38 pairs of brothers in his 1993 study, but he told New Scientist that he sees the new paper as confirmation of his work.

But as was the case in 1993, not all researchers are convinced that science is homing in on the biological roots of sexual preference. Even the senior author on the Psychological Medicine paper, Northwestern University psychologist Michael Bailey, had his doubts. “I thought that [Hamer] did a fine but small study,” he told Science. “If I had to bet, I would have bet against our being able to replicate it.”

Finally a little honesty from "science":
Bailey told Science. “But until somebody finds a gene, we don’t know.”

How much do you want to bet that Hamer is homosexual? Not much different than a banker proving that money exists, imo.

Again, I also believe that we are all born with sin in our DNA. People have no power over their own behavior, apart from supernatural intervention, so I don't hate or judge people who are "unarmed" against dark forces that are destroying them. It's the human condition, but to just leave them there without truth as a defense is, well, inhumane. The life expectancy of a homosexual male is 20 years less than their hetero-sexual comparisons.

There are just way too many former homosexuals whose mere existence are evidence of the error of this person's faux-science. Would you like to hear some of their testimonies? I'd be happy to supply that.

Thanks, I appreciate the invite, but honestly, I have just never been able to concentrate on playing games. Seems so pointless and a waste of time when I have so much to do.

Y'all have fun. I'm probably going to get in my boat and paddle with my Les Paul to the Dallas Guitar Show today. Driving to Boston starting tomorrow.

Say what? You're saying that no person has power over what they behave like? So whatever I do (or don't do) is ordained/preordained somehow - I have no choice in my behaviors? BS
