Morris: Obama Sneaking in ‘Unrestricted Immigration’ in TPA Trade Deal

by Pam Key20 Apr 20150

Monday on Newmax TV’s “America’s Forum,” political commentator Dick Morris said the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPA) fast track being supported by many Republicans has a provision that allows for the “free flow of workers” between countries, essentially creating a backdoor to “unrestricted immigration.”

Morris said, “This is huge. I hope everybody listening takes action call your senator about it. If he is a Republican he is voting wrong. “I dont think that people understand that in this deal which is a trade agreement among Australia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Japan, Canada, the United States, Mexico, Peru, and Chile, there’s a provision for free flow of workers, just like in the European Union. What It means is unrestricted immigration. It means literally that congress would not have the authority to restrict immigration because a treaty supersedes a statute under our constitution.”

Yes I did read it. And no I don't trust Republicans any more than I do Democrats.

According to the New York Times

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/04/22/busin ... .html?_r=0

WASHINGTON — Republican lawmakers and the White House have agreed to subject any trade deal negotiated by President Obama to a monthslong review by Congress and the public, a concession aimed at winning the support of Democrats who view trade agreements as a threat to American workers.

So this is something currently in progress, no matter what was going on in 2005.

In this case I fear the Democrats may be right, Obama has never done anything that benefits the working class. And I Have to be seriously skeptical when I see the next paragraph...

That provision, expected to be formally approved Wednesday by the Senate Finance Committee, would give Mr. Obama the “fast-track” authority he has been seeking to negotiate the Trans-Pacific Partnership with a dozen Pacific Rim nations, potentially expanding markets for American companies. But the compromise will almost certainly push a major trade accord with Asia into the presidential election season, a politically charged prospect that trade supporters had hoped to avoid.

That line "would give Mr. Obama the “fast-track” authority he has been seeking to negotiate the Trans-Pacific Partnership with a dozen Pacific Rim nations," makes me worry. If Obama wants it, I get real worried. He wanted Obamacare...amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants...Net Neutrality...

But it seems I might have been wrong about one thing, looks like Congress is at least trying to have a say in the matter...

I'm sure some Republicans are in favor of it. Boehner already turned his back on us in a big way, others have too. Democrats aren't the only ones in our government who don't always have the best interest of the people in mind. Democrats don't have a monopoly on lying and corruption...the main difference is that most Republicans don't make a career out of it.
