I'm a guitarist/singer/songwriter from the NYC area, looking for a bass player to perform material from the album I released last year, Far Enough Into the Void. I've been rehearsing the songs with a drummer and just need bass to complete the lineup so we can gig...

You can hear the songs here: http://brianlarkin.bandcamp.com

The predominant style is progressive metal, but ideal candidates will have some experience with and ability to play well in other styles, as there are also elements of funk, fusion and rock. Potential audition songs include "Disembodied Profanity", "Live It Down", "Delete You", and "Habit Magnet". (We've also been rehearsing "Itch" and "And Fail Again".)

I'm not looking for hired guns. It's essential that I work with people who are doing this out of faith in the music, who will actually enjoy playing it, and who ideally want to push themselves to become better musicians while also having fun. (I wish I had money to fund session players rehearsal and performance fees, but I don't, and won't any time soon...)

This music is very technically demanding, and it should go without saying that in this genre, a high caliber of musicianship is essential. So, it would be appreciated if your response includes a link to your own music -- full songs, work with previous bands, videos, or even smaller audio clips -- whatever you think represents you best and demonstrates that you can pull this stuff off. Or, if you don't have any prior work available to listen to, but know you can play the songs, video auditions are also welcome!

Thanks for reading and listening, and if you decide this isn't for you, good luck in finding whatever you're looking for!
