This is Infuriating!
If you fail to see the BLATANT use of the media's coverage of the Selma march YOU ARE A BRAIN DEAD MORON.
HEY MORON, of course I posted from a conservative publication no other NEWS source is going to make it available!
Before you go posturing your point of view about news sources putting it out there. Yeah YOUR gorvernment NOT mine put this news story out just like OUR government did back in 1947 with the Roswell incident!
I don't know how many of you NEWBIES remember Philby? I actually like the guy, but about a year ago he asked me to like him on fb to which my naive Texas never met a stranger attitude did. Shortly thereafter i was attacked for stating my political beliefs and accused of having "Fox News Fed to me intravenously". At that point I had never EVER watched Fox News EVER! It was at this point I unfriended him again because I don't care how much you appear to be my friend I will NOT take that kind of abuse. My Apologies to you Phil but the reason I use this example is to point out the absurdity of the left and RIGHT! i AM JUST AS PISSED AT THE BETRAY'LE OF THE REPUBLICANS AS I AM AT YOU BRAIN DEAD LIBERALS! Political Correctness has ALREADY DESTROYED OUR BRAIN DEAD NATION!
End rant! I have a healthy respect for ALL YOU FELLOW MUSICIANS in using the word MORON I am using this in a general statement. Not to single anyone of you out.....but if the shoe fits then by all means WEAR IT!
YOUR TURN.....................................

He has been writing conservatively charged articles for several years in the upstate New York area, and his writings have appeared in the Daily Caller, American Thinker, FoxNews.com, Big Government, the Times Union, and the Troy Record. He is also Editor of one of the top conservative blogs of 2012, the Mental Recession."

Rusty is not trusty! His conservative blog lied and claimed the photo with Bushes was the original ... it is not the photo originally sent to the NYT it was an alternate taken with a different camera, and rejected for being technically a poor photo for several reasons.

Looking at both pictures, it is easy to see that the larger shot was poorly composed. The photographer sent in the photo that put the current president, and people who are actually related to the original event, in the center of the picture's focus.

No one needs to see the over exposed image of the Bushes at the periphery to grasp the importance of the occasion. ...... I do not see Bill Clinton! I guess they didn't even invite him. :D

I asked The Times’s ranking photo editor, Michele McNally, about the photo this morning.
“There was no crop,” she said. “This was the photo as we received it.”
She sent me an email from the photographer, Doug Mills, who has been shooting White House and presidential photographs for many years.

Mr. Mills wrote to photo editors on Sunday to describe his process after The Times received an inquiry from Politico. Mr. Mills wrote that he never sent the photo desk a photograph he took that included the Bushes, and his reasons were technical ones. He wrote:

Just so you know … at the time the photo was taken, I was using a 70-200 long zoom lens. I also had a remote camera with a wide-angle lens attached to the side of the truck that took a photo at the just about the exact moment as the tighter one. As you can see, Bush was in the bright sunlight. I did not even send this frame because it’s very wide and super busy and Bush is super-overexposed because he was in the sun and Obama and the others are in the shade.

Ms. McNally showed me the photograph taken with the wide-angle lens that Mr. Mills sent to the photo desk on Sunday after the protests began.

“Technically, it’s a bad picture, and he didn’t even send it,” she said. President Bush “was totally overexposed,” she said. The photograph that was published is compositionally strong and “it has impact.”

.....

The fact the Bush attended the event was mentioned in the original NYT article.

Sir I am beginning to believe you are one of those GOVERNMENT FUNDED TROLLS! If you refer to my first post in the General forum and you actually clicked on the link you would see that they posted the fact there are two pictures side by side one of the actual picture and the one the NYT actually published the cropped photo! Perhaps the pre-described disclaimer of brain dead moron applies to you?
Oh and your little bait and switch/smoke and mirrors defense is something a gnat would come up with!

OK I'm a photographer, over 30 years with a camera in my face. I see two distinctly different pictures. Click the link above and see for yourself.

Picture in the Times...look at Obama's tie. Flopping to his right. Look at 2nd picture. Straight. Times pictuire he's looking to his left, bottom picture he's looking ahead.

Guy to his right, holding Obama's hand...top picture his right foot is in front, bottom shot his left is in front.

Times picture, the woman to his right (your left) partially hidden behind the man between her and Obama, she's looking down and slightly to her right. 2nd picture she's almost completely visible, looking straight ahead. Woman to her right in top picture is looking at her, bottom picture she's looking the opposite direction.

Exposure is definitely different in both shots, picture in the Times is a better and brighter exposure, bottom picture Bush's head is definitely overexposed. The rest of that picture is a lot darker, underexposed. Both shots are also taken from different angles.

I can't tell and don't know if the picture printed in the Times was cropped, but I do know these are both very different pictures, not different crops of the same one. Too many thing I see that are in totally different positions in both shots. Heads and entire bodies turned in different directions, different exposure, different feet leading, taken from different angles...

That said, I saw a report last night that quoted someone on NBC as saying not one Republican was at the event, and the mainstream media is certainly at least hinting that they mostly ignored it...but the idea that this is two different crops of one picture is nonsense. Definitely two different pictures and you can see it if you look close.

OK all that cleared up, the media is biased in both directions. The mainstream media, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC are all little more than cheerleaders for the liberals/Democrats in government. The few that bother to look a little closer are biased in favor of conservatives/Republicans. I don't think either is actually telling the whole story, and I know the mainstream media has not told us the truth in a long time.

Last year midterm elections...ABC, NBC and CBS aired 26 short mentions about the elections, compared to over 100 each for the 2010 midterms, 2 weeks before the elections CBS hadn't said a word. I don't remember the exact numbers, but that's according to the Media Research Center, the outfit that keeps track of what's on TV and who watches it. They're not telling the whole story in many cases. Many promoted the "Hands up don't shoot" narrative after the Ferguson incident, now proven totally false. I haven't paid attention to them in a long time, but I'd almost bet they don't tell you Al Sharpton has been considered one of Obama's closest advisors since then and has been to the White House over 80 times, or that he owes over 4.5 million in back taxes.

Jeff had a good point too, the Republicans who promised us they would fight Obama's executive action on immigration turned their backs on us and made a deal with him to let it happen anyway, knowing most Americans are against it.

We've been thrown under the bus by BOTH parties, and this is not the first time John Boehner has done it. And the media is not telling you half of the story. What the mainstream does tell you is only what the government wants you to hear. That has been a fact for many years, Obama didn't start it. I remember being blasted on here in 2013 when I pointed out that Ted Cruz and the Republicans didn't shut the Government down, Harry Reid did. But that is a fact. Cruz is a senator, he never got a chance to even debate the budget bill, much less vote on it, so how did he shut the govt down? But the so called news pinned it on him anyway. The truth is Harry Reid shut the budget bill down without a debate or a vote, which shut the government down. Just like he shut down 380 bills passed by the House, while Obama whined the whole time about our "do nothing Congress" and how those pesky Republicans "just won't work with me". All lies, and promoted by the "news". It goes on and on.

Yes, the liberal media is not telling the truth or the whole story, Yes they are seriously biased, but this business about this picture is nonsense.

Enough with the name calling. Let's not be so wounded over the slightest (perceived) slight against W that we automatically circle the wagons. Remember Dan Rather a Mary Mapes (60 Minutes George W Bush national guard story)? Even when proven wrong, their only defense for their actions was that the story is still true and everybody sucks. Don't be like that.

Schmed, It has exactly NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT! I can't stand him either. Having said that I like him WAaaayyyyyy better than the Marxist, (currently) destoying America. So W sold out to his buddies and put the U.S. 6 Trillion in Debt and the current one sold out to his buddies and pushed it to the tune of 16 trillion. Whats the DIF? All the while they spin their political agenda pitting black against white. Again I ask you whats the DIF? It's like the WORST GROUNDHOG DAY NIGHTMARE THAT JUST KEEPS GETTING WORSE BY THE NANOSECOND!
The one thing that just is unacceptable to me is the fact that the Millennium Generation are the ones that will decide in 2016 and they are the ones that don't watch the news or educate themselves politically and are vulnerable to this kind of political brain washing! Yet I have no choice but to sit here so extremely appalled, pissed off, without a voice, and helpless to just watch my grandkids future being thrown away and knowing the end of the greatest experiment in the history of the world will soon be over!

Jeff, Billy, Schmed... Pretty scary, proving that there still is some intelligence left in our country. That could prove to be a BIG PROBLEM for all the traitors of our constitution that seem to be coming out of the political hole of politics.

Time to FLUSH.

The liberal media is biased? Damn. Who knew...? 8)

I don't have a TV but I often see Liberals complaining that Fox News is biased but I seem to remember that being pretty left wing as well.

However it might be a wise response to simply say, "The Media is Biased." Given the almost all newspapers and TV networks are owned by the same few people that would certainly seem to be right.

Now if Zero closes down the internet we can all relax and just suck up the propaganda our masters feel is best for us. It will be just dandy. Just think - no more political arguments - just smiling, satisfied 'citizens.'
