The forecast for here, tonight, is 11 below zero, w/ a wind chill of 45 below.
So, I guess I can't sit on the bench outside, playing my guitar.

A few years ago I did a contract in Boise (wonderful town) and experienced winter. That was when I realized why Yankees are so grouchy!

Iowa is such a miserable desolate boring place that even the snow didn't want to come here this year.

I lived in Iowa from age my born on date of Dec. 10, 1955 to age 3 weeks, then moved to Jacksionville, Fl. and lived various places throughout Florida while my uncle and dad tried to get a successful construction business started, moved back to Iowa in 1959 when dad got a good job at John Deere (Ankeny Works).. and lived there until age 24 then moved around while in the Air Force..
but I will say, although Iowa could be considered "backwards" by many, (I even think Johnny Carson would make quips about Iowa) it has some of the best soil in the nation, and after many years of reflection, I have come to conclude, where the land is rich with bountiful natural rwesources, the people seem to be a higher caliber of quality, less thieves, less shysters, less porn, a wholesome place to live in Iowa, but cold as hell, and I can't take the cold, even too cold here in southwest Missouri, but bearable..e

I've been to a couple all-day social events where about 60 musicians play & eat food all day long, held in a semi-insulated barn with a stage set-up.
They want the musicians to keep their instruments in the back room, which is always about 20 degrees cooler than out front.
And they ask you to tune up BEFORE you get on stage, of course (goes without saying).
So - naturally - as your guitar heats up another 20 degrees, it goes out of tune as you're playing.

Yep, I know people who have had whole porch roofs collapse. leaking roofs due to ice dams causing thousands of $$ damage in their homes. Ihad huge chunks of ice fall from the eaves take out the phone, cable nad internet lines - could just as easily taken out the power line, busted a gas pipe and BOOM.
My song (in the first post) is light-hearted to make up for the misery people have been going through.
