I have an old farm house about a half mile in on an impassable driveway. Sorry to complain but I'm really just trying to come to a pilots solution, GO or NO GO. They need oil, if I make a mistake, it won't be pretty. I won't even go into details. The worst part is the no go is all but eliminated, and it is going to take perfection in weight compensation, to safely get in and weight differential after delivery to safely get out.
I'm going to spend all night dreaming about how to do this.

This has become one tough winter, and now this union strike is going to send prices through the roof. 3 weeks of February and all heck breaks loose. I'm too old.

I had so many desperate people calling last week it was like triage. You I can help... you I can't.

I'm tired. Thanks for allowing me to bitch.

Just before my band relocated to Florida in the '70s we were cold and broke in Maryland. I talked the fuel oil guy into hooking us up for copies of our album! 8)

He told us, "I've never heard of you but you look like the kind of band my daughters would like." Was that an insult? Didn't matter I suppose - we warmed up for a bit anyway.

A few weeks later, after we'd burned most of the furniture - my brother and I got into 'Esmeralda' our not so faithful vehicle and headed South. Haven't looked back since.

Thanks for that Talbot... I really need some levity, humor, and any point of view that is just plain nice. I'm so pressed I have become grateful for any gentle words.

Thanks guys. Mission accomplished and I only had to clean the seat a little bit. LOL.

I'm tired of this winter. Going down to zero again. None of the houses here are built for those temps.

Any way thanks guys,

Glen ...This Damn Global Warming ... I think all the States have snow on the ground aside from 5. Not to be a downer but next year will be worse. The black Messiah has been shouting down loads of electric generating plants and not replacing them with anything ... that should get rid of a few old ___ks and some of those pesky young-un that the vaccines have not retarded. Slow Kill is working but it is slow and i think America can do much better.

Eat some seafood, drink some good "city water" and go out for a Big Mac ... perhaps that will make one feel better. Of course i jest. Doing your job and having a conscience is a difficult gig now. There will be many shortages of many things this summer and the biggest shortage of all will be intelligent, moral and caring responsible "leadership".

I liked Talbots story. I have a similar one about wintering in Newfoundland. Winters suck for me and i much prefer the warmth ... all my many broken bones do not ache so much. I know that it is easy to get a bit down but that is what is good about this forum still ...being all musicians we have a bit of empathy for one another ... even if some play Jazz...ha ha ha. Personally I have never had such a diverse wide and plentiful choice of things which i could get depressed about. It is good to speak to someone about it however ... especially if they are of the opposite sex, naked and in bed with you drinking hot chocolate laced liberally with rum. Try it .

I don't like rum Vamp... Thats OK though, The pleasant picture you painted was very tempting. That was warming.

Now this morning I wake up with replacing a burner in a freeze up because I can't get parts. Also a water heater that let go in the middle of the night. F'd up thing is these were totally avoidable situations... Now the snow and ice on the cleared driveways makes the logistics very dangerous to ankles and any other slip and fall bones.

I just can't overcome this much stupidity, and the big S is fading fast.

It is a pleasure to hear the views of every one on hear, that even includes the one you gave that little dig too.

Be safe... Spring is coming.
