Leaving active-duty military. Gonna move back to the West next year to re-establish myself and find intelligent musicians to form band. Where within CA, WA would I have better odds mingling within musician circles to find like-minds? I'm intimidated by the fact that I've gotta establish myself in places I'm not familiar with. Will probably be workin hospital side-jobs to finance this sh!t (I'm trained to fix/maintain medical equipment). Where would it be relatively easy to find a decent place to live? Riskin sucks, especially alone.

I dunno...if you don't mind NOT living like a movie star, you can work and live in Southern California, and I know there are truckloads of good musicians around there.

The problem comes when people sell everything to migrate there solely to "make it big", get their asses kicked up around their ears, and then slink back home with their tails between their legs - forever soured on southern Cali. If your expectations arent so grand and you just want to play good music, a move to California could be great for you. It's a beautiful place.

I grew up in Central Valley, Ca. PLACE SUCKS! lol

I preferred San D and Bay Area.. good places. sh*t... I"m selling sh*t just to get a fat Mesa stack to blare with (feeding the monster). I can't wait to get the piss outta military. (stuck in NC)

San Diego's definitely expensive bro. I like the Seattle idea.. cold weather is good.

I hope you can get out of the military soon, too. But with President War's stop loss measures, it's hard to say these days.

What's next...."Yer in fer life"?
