Does anyone have any experience with this? Own one? Used one? Tried it out?

I'm thinking of getting one.

It all started when our band decided to cover John Mayer's "Bigger Than My Body". I had never heard the song before, and I was instantly hooked on the guitar tone and the effect he was using. When I grabbed the powertab for it I noticed the author's comments - that Mayer used an AdrenaLinn to generate the arpeggio (in addition to it just giving the guitar a totally different tone than normal).

Then I got on YouTube and found a few videos; an engineer going through all the things the unit can do. And I was really impressed. It seems like a really great unit for a lot of those little effects that just help complete a song.

I was curious if anyone else had used one or tried one out, what your thoughts were.

The Roger Linn (the "engineer" in those YouTube videos) Adrenalinn is pretty cool. I bought the first one for $100 on Ebay, and then bought the upgrade kit from the company website (turning it into an Adrenalinn 3). This upgrade feature makes it a great value. The company is one of the best companies I've ever dealt with. I had a problem with one of the chips, and they quickly sent me a new one, free of charge. Now, onto the features. If you're playing that John Mayer song, you might want the Adrenalinn 3, as it actually has a John Mayer preset. At first, the effects are awesome! The amp simulations are pretty good. The drums are programmable (unfortunately, only up to two measures). You could use it as an all-in-one box...except for the fact that it can be a little noisy (of course, this could just be mine, but I've read about this elsewhere). It does have a noise gate. My final verdict: I sold it! I noticed that every time I heard it on a commercial recording (everything from Brad Paisley to 311), it sounded about the same. Now, you can program it to do different things, but a panning effect is a panning effect is a panning effect. Sure, there's a tap-tempo, but for anything besides the filter effects, there are a million other pedals that do the same stuff (just not all at the same time). However, I still believe Roger Linn Design to be a fine company.
