Sorry folks. I disagree. I can't imagine why American troops are in the mideast.

Do you think we should wait and give them enough time to organize another 9/11 kind of attack? I mean, they declared war on us first, and have been begging for us to pay attention to their threats.

And I can't imagine why we haven't stayed there since Thomas Jefferson and the Barbary Coast war, OR the assassination of our Saudi Ambassador in the 60s, OR the Palestinian assassination of Bobby Kennedy, OR the Iranian hostage situation of the 70s, or the Beirut bombing of 238 Marines in 1983, OR the WTC bombing in 1996 and again in 2001, etc..

That stuff isn't going to stop by itself.

But my question is: Aren't these rogue war criminals running an actual nation state the EXACT reason why the UN was formed?

If ALL nations aren't going to unify against these thugs through the apparatus created for it, then the UN has no purpose and should immediately be liquidated.

I'm saying we were incredibly stupid to go into Iraq in the first place.

Should we have kept troops there? After making all the initial mistakes should we have become the Tito / Sadaam of the region?

'No' is my answer. But events prove me wrong.

We trained and armed terrorists to fight against the enemy designated by the Saudis, who call the shots in the Mideast. That enemy is Syria, the war is about natural gas, and our coup in Ukraine was part of this overall stupidity.

How in the hell do we stop govt from doing these things? It's about natural gas for goodness sake - can't we stay out of it?

But now Christians are at risk due to our government's stupidity. The Kurds and Syrians protect them. How's that for confusing eh? Obama is still foolishly looking for a way to smash Syria and betray the Kurds.

I can only judge these people by their deeds. If Assad in Syria protects Christians and Obama is against Syria - then f**k him.

Bush I screwed the Kurds and let Sadaam massacre lots of them after Gulf War I. Yet the Kurds seem to be the only folks in the area with a sense of decency. Hence my support for the Pesh Merga.

Since we made this mess -- we should clean it up. Smash those bastards, the Daesh (as they call themselves). Be done with them.

We are very much in agreement, bro. Except about Assad...we should have dealt with his dad in the strongest possible way and cut off this one's inheritance. Christians are NOT safe from him either...he just doesn't broadcast it like ISIS. His dad massacred 33,000 Lebanese Marionites in a day....and his dad was a more decent human (if he can be fit into that category)

We went to Libya for the Barbary Coast Wars and didn't come home until the job was finished, same as WWI and WWII.

I hate war and killing...but cowardice is not a virtue when bully thugs are killing this many innocent people. Brutality is all that the brutal understand and the current Administration keeps covering up for Islamists in between empty threats and political positioning for the camera.

This brutality isn't going to stop until we make the price verrrry high.

RE: The Saudis

American petro-dollars are supporting a repressive regime in the House of Saud just like ISIS but don't know it. Having a bible or being Jewish, Christian, or infidel can get you killed just as quickly there. Stealing a potato will get your hand chopped off...so what is the difference between them and any other Islamic regime?
