A much better example is cholesterol loaded foods or things like butter. High Choleterol kills MANY more people through heart disease, heart attacks, etc... than drugs do, whether legal or illegal.

Outlawing the consumption of foods high in so-called "bad" cholesterol, would save infintely more lives than the criminalization of drugs ever could.
There may be 10 or 11,000 deaths in America a year, from illegal drugs.
There are HALF A MILLION deaths each year from heart disease.
Also, deaths from LEGAL drugs as opposed to illegal drugs is 100 to 1. Yes, for every death from illegal drugs, there are 100 deaths from perfectly legal drugs.
