No biggie ....

Reading your profile
mmmm .. there is nothing on it anywhere,
that could redeem you from the dimwitted display you have presented here
in attempting to discuss the declared topic of this thread.

'credibility'? Really?

So, you've been playing your imported guiro for 45 years, had over 100 “gigs”, and you “practice” 2-3 times a week? You must be one in-credible guiro player! A regular guiro virtuoso!

My profile information, on the other hand, is verifiably true. Credibility is important to me. You? Not so much.

“However, it does reinforce certain cliches about Fox News fans.”

What a tool. I haven't watched TV in many years, network, cable, nothing – let alone Fox News. I realize that that doesn't fit your preconceived stereotype, but it is what it is.

Still waiting to hear one of your magnificent guiro performances........

So, you are some disgruntled America hater who trolls forums to spread your pseudo- intellectual bile with copied/pasted diatribe from Wiki and The Guardian. For what reason? Agent provocateur? Nah, nobody would have you as an agent.

Must get pretty boring there in Reno, eh?

Besides the main BandMix site of browsable profiles, which is where one may find a band or musician
.. there are the BandMix Forums .. which even have a separate log-in.
Those who have spent some time on the forums are often quick to point out to new comers, that attempting to find band members by posting to the forum is typically not very fruitful. The main BM site has a search function that may be useful for that quest.

There are about 20 forums listed here, each devoted to a different music related subject.

Except for one, and this particular forum is titled:
General Chat (Non-Music-Related)
General discussion for non music topics. BE RESPECTFUL OR YOUR POSTS WILL BE DELETED.

.. and the topic in this case happens to be .. "Our military was keeping the peace in Iraq . . ."

Thanks for the refresher course on forum etiquette. It's very informative, since you've been here.....what....2 weeks?

"I'm currently involved in a collaboration with an excellent multi-instrumentalist musician..."

Lots of call for an imported guiro virtuoso.

don, is it ok to bring Syria into this Iraq thread? and I prefer ISIS over ISIL.. Obama calls the terrorists ISIL which stands for the Levant, but the Levant includes Lebanon, and Lebanon is not involved yet..so ISIS is the more precise description of these thugs, and Obama needs to start saying the correct term in his news conferences..

I'm a musician.
... and I don't play with flakes, druggies, or smurfs. :|

 Sweet! I could use some guiro on some of my tracks. :P

Sorry folks. I disagree. I can't imagine why American troops are in the mideast.

Sadaam was our proxy. He was a bastard but he was our bastard. In Iraq, under Sadaam, you could worship God as you saw fit (Christian, Jew, Muslim), you could buy a drink, and you could own a full auto AK47. (don't try that in the 'land of the free')

But we fixed that problem didn't we? We threw away nearly 5000 of our most idealistic kids to get rid of our own puppet dictator? I see something wrong in that picture.

Now Obama, not wanting to be outdone by Bush, has turned the whole damn place into a battleground and done more for Islamic terror than even Bush on his worst day.

Maybe if we stopped pretending we have two political parties and started dealing with reality, we could do something about this.

As to ISIS? I suppose we have to kill them. A man shoots his own dog, right? We trained them, armed them and grew them, now they are slaughtering everyone in sight. Were I younger I'd seriously consider joining up with Pesh Merga - they at least conduct themselves like men.

Let's send McCain and Obama over there and see how they do. They love war don't they....but they just don't like fightin'. As Dick Chaney put it so eloquently, when asked why he hadn't joined up during Vietnam - "I had other priorities." Yep. They always do.
