"Old pro from El Salvador...."

Yeah, that brigadier general with 24 years of service.

Great source as well. The Guardian? Really?

Actually, I think it is you who have the comprehension problem. I've never communicated with you – ever, until this post. In fact, I haven't even been on this forum in years.

It is amusing that you follow up your Guardian with that paragon of truth, Wikipedia.

“ brigadier general?”

Actually, yes.

“Jim Steele retired from the U.S. Army after 24 years of distinguished service. He was consistently promoted ahead of his peers culminating in his selection for promotion to brigadier general, the youngest officer of his branch to be selected at that time.”

While I realize that you probably consider yourself an expert on counterinsurgency (and Geopolitics), I rather doubt it.

BTW....going to Burning Man this year?

I think that the General's bio is a lot more credible than your Bandmix profile.

No music. No references. No credits.

As they say in Texas....all hat, no cattle.

Gotta run. Have a rehearsal to go to.

Well thank goodness, now that Saddam is gone, there are no more suicide bombings!

Yes, that is correct! There have been ZERO suicide bombings in Israel since we took out Saddam Hussein.

Proving AGAIN that you don't know jack about the topic.

And for you to insult another musician's music while not posting any of your own is pure cowardice.

Which is typical.

“Your music does nothing to bolster your credibility in this discussion.”

'credibility'? Really?

So, you've been playing your imported guiro for 45 years, had over 100 “gigs”, and you “practice” 2-3 times a week? You must be one in-credible guiro player! A regular guiro virtuoso!

My profile information, on the other hand, is verifiably true. Credibility is important to me. You? Not so much.

“However, it does reinforce certain cliches about Fox News fans.”

What a tool. I haven't watched TV in many years, network, cable, nothing – let alone Fox News. I realize that that doesn't fit your preconceived stereotype, but it is what it is.

Still waiting to hear one of your magnificent guiro performances........

This is documented on the Israeli Ministry Of Foreign Affairs website .. if you can trust that source.

I stand corrected. There have been more than ZERO suicide bombings, but it has nearly disappeared as a strategy so my point is still accurate and true. Taking Saddam out ended the suicide bombing industry he created in Israel and here are the actual numbers:

Saddam influnced:
2001 (40 bombings)
2002 (47 bombings)
2003 (23 bombings)
2004 (17 bombings)

Saddam gone:
2005 (9 bombings)
2006 (3 bombings)
2007 (1 bombing)
2008 (2 bombings)

There have been less in the COMBINED years since Hussein than in any single year before we took him out.
