I am in fact a step dad. Was delighted to spend yesterday with the step son grand kids whom I consider my own. They do too apparently.

Received the sacrament at church today which was a great relief - I've been working weekends for months. When they discussed weekend work for this weekend we all pushed back hard.

I had fun. My kids invited us over for a BBQ. However, This is where the fun begins. DAD... WE RAN OUT OF PROPANE, can you you bring a spare tank over?
DAD... WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH FOOD... 10 of my friends just showed up and we don't know what to do. Can you bring something extra?
DAD... They just drank that 4 pack of Grolsch, I bought for you special...

We sat around for hours with their friends just talking. 2 old folks.
