additionally i would suggest that Bandmix sets a limit on the amount of elipsis used in any one post!
as for multi-instrumentalists....i hear where you're coming from. just because someone can play a C major scale on piano does not make them a "pianist".
then again there are legit multi-instrumentalists to be found. vinny comes to mind as he has mad skills on a multitude of instruments.
i myself gig regularly playing bass in a cpl of bands, mandolin/dobro in another, and guitar/vibraphone in another.
good catch vinny on the absence of an afro beat category...myself, i've always found the lack of an afro-cuban category most disconcerting.
