Unfortunately this is actually about the rampant political overtones of the progressive, liberal agenda that is using PROTECTIONISM as a means to limit FREEDOM in America. Instead of allowing personal responsibility to be the most important factor... Some one else will do that for you.

This is what America has become. A fistful of spineless cowards that will protect a citizen from everything, from smoking to guns to standards for education. It all boils down to censorship in an effort to control the average American citizen.

Unfortunately after a while I start to understand why many DO NOT DESERVE FREEDOM. They think they do. Yet they are far to short sighted to see what is truly happening.

If the content, of whatever it was he/it/she was saying, were not just provocative prose, but provocative musical lyrics? Would that have put the Willie in or out?

This is the first I have ever heard of this "Willie" and honestly, the Willie seems relatively tame in comparison to the undertones of political tensions I can feel all the way up here in Canada.


As an impartial observer, to this Willie problem, I'd say there was nothing pornographic at all, sure maybe it was totally immature, but, it is the Willie in the end, who will suffer the tarnished reputation, for not keeping his mind off the pickles. I wouldn't give a nickels worth of thought to That Willie. If you don't like something, ignore it and it will get board, and go away.

Dave - you no doubt have missed most/all of mywillie's posts- he's been invading this forum for many many months (before George and I were made moderators by the admin - we didn't ask to do this, they asked us) with troll behavior - insulting any/all music posted/linked, obscene posts, and linking to porn per Jahva (I didn't see that one, but I believe him).
Glen(ny) is somehow under the impression that this is a publicly-owned forum and that any 'censorship' (his word) is a constitutional violation of his rights (note that NONE of his rants have been censored or deleted). As Mike T has pointed out, this is a privately-owned website and as such the owners have every right to set their own rules - which everyone who signed up here agreed to, whether they bothered to read the TOS or not.

Ahhhh... I just saw an article where a police officer a paramedic a rabbi a nurse and a Boy Scout leader were among 70 arrests in NYC for anonymous trading of child porn over the internet.

Well, guys, sometimes, there is nothing I like more than baiting trolls, and smacking them around. However, that activity is best carried out on the already soiled pages of Youtube, if you ask me.

I enjoy working within the "rules" of respecting one-another, and still kicking Troll butt. (Everyone needs to punch something now and then.)

I don't wish to sink to the, pathetic level of name calling. Don't get me onto explaining, how those who scapegoat, and hate, their fellow human-beings, who have a "Gay lifestyle" are no better than society was, when it crapped all over Jackie Robinson, #42, now a hero to all who will be honest. Or, how racism even to this day, screws everything up.

I have had the privilege of touring with my band around America, Not as extensively as I would like, but enough to know, that people are people, and your real enemy, is the encroachment of the NWO Banksters Corporate Police State. willie might have been telling the truth, their music indeed sucked, but as for personal name-calling, I saw no evidence of that..

I'm just interested in attempting to respect others, as best I can, and maybe having an opportunity to share ideas with others, musical or what have you.

Slamming stupid politicians and thugs, should be our duty as living thinking, and hopefully caring human-beings. Teaching one-another, we are interconnected, and that some other group of feeling thinking people not some "evil other" to be sent off to some concentration camps, for extermination should be foremost in the minds of parents and schools all across the world.

"ignoring the troll" is advice I've often given in other places (and here before the admin made me a moderator), but the fact is that some people will not ignore them and the madness perpetuates. mywillie was replying to dozens of threads at one point, hijacking all of them with his unmerited comments and obscene nonsence stories. The admin did not want this - it just drives people away from this type of website. On other web forums I have seen moderators give 'time outs' to forum members who are getting out-of-hand - 3-5 days of blocked posting, but this doesn't apply to trolls who contribute nothing other than their vitriole or spammers who only appear to promote their particular product or web page or service.

That was a good post Dave, and respect to you for keeping a band together that long. I went about five years before DWI laws started to affect the draw so much, that people stopped going out. (80s) Bars disappeared as fast as we booked them. LOL.

Mike... This is about FREEDOM. Yes this is their website. No it is not that simple. They have allowed a NON OWNER to make OWNER decisions.
Mike is only satisfying his own ego. Ask him to bring forth the absolute agreement between him and bandmix that allowed him to censor willie.

That is a very interesting comment about the loss of freedom since WW2. The truth of that is lost on the next generation. Most of them are so busy texting that they don't have time to learn an instrument, or fix a car or hang a cabinet or door.

Even at that... We had more trolls and spammers 5 years ago. Mike didn't solve that problem. The people hanging out here did. Since mike joined we suddenly have the "IGNORE" button. Since mike joined he has complained more than any one that we should only talk music. Since mike joined he has insulted more good musicians than I can remember on this site. Many have left or rarely visit. Since mike joined he has gone out of his way to set himself up as moderator, in the effort to make this site better.

IT WASN'T BROKEN... Until mike joined.

Now bandmix doesn't have enough money to fix their servers. I can't blame that on mike... just interesting it happened, since he joined...

I have some "iffy" things to say.

If I can keep up the barefoot running to the imagined goal I have of doing a marathon of 50 K, I won't have any time to worried about Trolls, or who started the war.

If this was my site and I found someone trashing the quality of experience I'd try to talk them/it down.

If my gut said I was dealing with a totally committed shit-head, I'd vaporize him/it her, and not have another thought. Nothing makes a troll more unhappy than access denied.

We should be free to make a mess, and figure out how to clean it up. It's only words we are tossing about here, not stones, RPGs or other nasty things.

If there is a "Constitution of Conduct" for this BandMix Forum, maybe It could be posted by the front door, in a place where I can see it when I walk into this place of discussion and sharing of ideas.

I don't think there are a lot of kids running around here, so, all of us being adults, for the most part, should be able to see, and tell actual offensive hate speech, from speech that is just in bad taste. I have absolutely no interest in the likes of "the Willie"

If I was in charge of the world I'd try to find out what was going on with that entity. In your standard Troll hunting methodology, You look about the intertubes to see what trails of slime have been left behind, and asses the quality of the trolls character.

If The Troll is spewing hatred, because it thinks its fun to hate Jews for example, or other groups of human-beings, who have become the target of some governments policy of ignorance, vaporize it. Smack that troll into oblivion.

I hope anyone reading this can extrapolate from here, how marginalizing others is not cool. The same goes for unpopular opinions or subjects of discussions. If we cannot discus freely things that may offend others without getting in sh*t for it, then we have a problem.

I agree with what you all are thinking, (Who the hell is this Dave44778) where does he get off pontificating about what we can and cannot read, or put up with on a forum.

I (Me Dave) really don't care, If something is really bad I'll say something, if it is tasteless and crass, I'll point it out, If it is offensive, or inciting others to hate any one of the many targets, the ones with tinny minds, like to pick on, I'll attempt to destroy them.

If I have the time, inclination, or a bad enough mood, I'll spend a few moments punching out some troll scum-bag just for the intellectual exercise of attempting to not stoop, to the trolls level of behaviour. I can't say I've never gone too far, and called a troll as many fowl names as I could, but in the end I have to live with that. For the most part I'm OK with it. Sometimes I think I should have just let it go.

So, do anyone of you old farts run, or attempt other activities, or do anything other than pick a git box write songs, and worry that we might see another Willie?
