Aye karumba! I get a message last night after 8pm from someone letting me know tha the open mic that I was supposed to host NEXT WEEK is in fact tonight! Bartender f*cked up the calendar (wasn't paying attention).
So not expecting a big turnout - I warned them about that. Oh well, it'll give me more of a chance to work with new equipment - preamp/DI, new Sennheiser mic and some stage lights.

Had 9 players show up last night, pretty good for last-minute announcement - shows that networking really does work.
So we've changed the '2nd & 4th Wednesdays of the month' schedule to every other week. Less chance of anyone screwing up the calendar dates that way. now I just have to remember that its the same week as my trash recycling week is.

New Sennheiser mic sounded good last night for those who used it. Cheap LED lights worked well for lighting up the dark stage, but the 'sound activation' really sets them changing fast and I've haven't figured out how to change the speed without a controller. Must be a way.
Preamp/DI made switching players out a breeze (mute button), but I need to fine tune the semi-parametric EQ for mids on it for best anti-quack sound, definitely sounded better than straight into the mixer for most guitars.
