Mike, I know you are a fan of guns, and I see on tonight's news that the State of Georgia has enacted some very lenient gun laws today.. congratulations.. most gun owners are very responsible people and I am happy for you guys in Georgia.. I just hope the schools allow concealed weapons for use by the teachers and will never allow a mass murder thing to take place again..responsible teachers will be able to snuff out any rebel wanting to take out classmates and faculty..

Dane why do I get the feeling after reading this you are being sarcastic? You just get down with your bad self, can anyone say "hidden agenda"?

Thanks Dane!

The teachers will be issued a revolver, a whip and a chair.

We're getting closer to constitutional carry. We can already carry in our vehicles, and permits for CCW are fairly common.

Yeah - we have gunfights all the time which is pretty exciting - unless you are trying to get a nap. 8)

The truly shocking thing in Georgia is that victims of gunfire almost all fall into the same two categories: bad guys killed by bad guys, and bad guys killed by good guys. I like those statistics.

nope, I have owned a gun of some sort since I was 12.. sometimes a coyote needed dispatched at the buried bait set.. sometimes a nice pheasant under glass meal could be scrounged with a well placed blast of my Coast To Coast Hardware 20 gauge pump shotgun.. I love what a responsible gun owner can do to help the economy.. Iv'e got an Arisaka Type 99 7.7mm war rifle in need of ammo.. too bad the Chrysanthemum has been shaved off.. that is some hidden agenda for you...

Oh Dane, mybad! I forgot the unwritten law that only YOUR Gubment "and the anointed liberal communist" are allowed weapons with which to defend themselves?
Oh and by the way Mr. Talbot Texas is next.

I could not agree more Billiy! Texas has the Castle Doctrine that states a man can defend his life AND property with deadly force. Last year the Castle Doctrine was extended to his automobile meaning you can legally carry a loaded weapon in your car. The law was changed because auto manufacturers are making it virtually impossible to steal a car without the key thus the increase in armed car jackings.

Funny thing about this is, personal safety is a small issue. Like Jeff pointed out... The strong point is how quickly a government will issue a gun to a soldier to protect, against another government that is "breaking the law"

WHO IS REALLY BREAKING THE LAW AND WHAT LAW? It's called war.

Unfortunately mankind is very violent. The only way I see that is fair to equalize that violence is to either die or have the same protection afforded the other assshole... EQUAL OR SUPERIOR FIERPOWER.

Glen

When you get a little older personal safety becomes a much bigger deal. I used to be able to take a lot of punishment and still dish out grief.

Now, statistically, if I don't take down an opponent in 15 seconds he owns me. It's made me rethink a few things about my personal protection strategy.

However, to be very clear - I do agree with you. I have always considered myself a member of the 'unorganized militia' and recognized my duties to the people of my state and my country.

I feel like it is 1860 all over again. Texas is increasing the size of the state militia and confronting the FedGov over a land grab. Six Western states are collaborating on taking back their land from DC.

I agree with the actions of our brothers in these cases. But I've been in a war and lost. The good guys don't always win. It's hard to see what could be worse when that happens.

But never the less, this is exactly what I think - I'll quote a Rebel general who was killed in action by the govt troops, and summed it up perfectly:

J. Johnston Pettigrew
"...The post of danger is certainly the post of honor."

Came across an Arisaka in a local shop the other day with the emperors chrysanthemum still intact it would seem.
However the blue on the receiver ring was suspiciously missing which leads me to believe the chrysanthemum was a forgery.
Still at only $300.00 . . . alas my current economic status would be a lot more likely to be selling my collection than adding.

However I love to shoot this little gem.

following that thinking and your analogy to war.....why not make sure that every country has nuclear weapons?

......i mean if you've no concern and see no problems w our citizenry walking around armed to the teeth... 'cos you expect everyone to use good sound judgement about when to pull the trigger (or push the button)....why not extend that to all?

MORE FIREPOWER! THAT IS WHAT GOD AND THE CONSTITUTION GUARANTEE!

hey, what could possibly go wrong?????

The bad guys are gonna be armed and they certainly WILL NOT use good judgement. I prefer the good guys (law abiding citizens) be armed so they can protect themselves!

yeah, jeff...i do get your point and know where you're coming from.

my point is that if guns are so easily available to everyone...they're also more available to the bad guys.

and just the same as i don't want every nation to have nuclear weapons because i KNOW many of them will NOT use good sound judgement...i extend that very same line of thinking to all the "good citizens" many of whom i KNOW will not use good judgement either.

people do not always use good sound judgement when they are mad or feel threatened. or find themselves in serious situations.

to think that every "good citizen" will use good sound judgement is pure folly.

Mark if someone isn't using good judgment and wanting to kill they will do it regardless of the method. Men have been killing one another since the beginning of time and that's before guns ever existed. Kind of like this guy?

This happened last Tuesday and the man has been charged with murder. Shall we ban or restrict wheelchairs now?

Wow!!
I see what you mean ....
Given his drive and determination to kill, just think of what he might have been able to accomplish if he had handy a good automatic weapon with a high capacity magazine!
