Here is a news flash for you, the earth has been getting hotter for the past 14 thousand years since the end of the ice age. Way way before the industrial revolution. Beef is going up because of the drought caused by NATURE. I know cattlemen that had to sell of and thin their herds because you see cattle have to eat. Cattle like to eat hay and grain mostly corn. Well grain has gone up in price because we are now using it to make fuel. Hay can't grow in a drought. Only a FOOL believes that crap the communist in office is pushing now!
Us conservatives would love a truly viable alternative fuel. We just prefer it not force the economy to topple. I work for a major college that is on the cutting edge of wind generated energy. There are problems with that technology son. In fact NONE of the alternates you mentioned are viable. Remember Solyndra? We prefer letting free industry develope viable energy alternatives without the gubment craming it down our throats and forcing us so there buddies and cronies can get rich and ME having to pick up the tab. He tells me that the "alternative energy" that our government is pushing is from 20x to 100x more expensive than what we currently use. That means it use MORE of the earth's resources to create an illusion of "green" energy. He also tells me how they purposely measure climate change in places where they can get the readings they want, and ignore all the places where their "facts" would be disproven.

Yeah... And like Jeff said 1400 years ago my house was covered with 200 feet of glacial ice. Thank God those native Americans started driving big cars and putting up coal plants to heat this place up. Then I guess the pilgrims came along and understood the value of refrigeration, so they could produce COLD LAGER beer, just in case we ever ran out of glacial ice. The only thing that really changed all this was the heated debate about saving the cold water smelt. The rest is history... Columbus discovered Europe and Afghanistan kicked the Israelites out.

The complete basis of global warming is the few should take control to protect the many from the upcoming evil.

The real truth is that sooner or later we will run out of fossil fuels. The fact is we have to start looking so much further into the future. NONE of the technology we have today will advance mankind. Instead all I see is a few are wasting tremendous time and energy to scare the poor little many.

When is everyone going to wake up and demand we allow our great scientific minds to be supported to "think out side the box". This is not about our generations, but about generations 100 years from now.

Please don't miss my point. Windmills, Solar, Geothermal, Nuclear... Are baby steps. I'm not going to side positively on any of them...

However getting back to the basis of this whole thread is the way this is being used to tax and control the average person. Climate change = climate tax. Just open the corrupt door to the next group of corrupt taxers telling the average man... IT IS THE LAW.

I am not shocked by the leaders that we have now. They are all selfish and have NO REAL VISION for the betterment of all our future generations.

When Is someone going to stand up and scream... We don't need to tax what we have now... We need to support our forward move to the 25 century.

Glen, the research is happening I see it everyday at work as does my wife she tracks the grant money post award. A tremendous amount of money is being spent by ALL of the big oil companies, National Science Foundation, various corporations. Believe me when I tell you that all of the afore mentioned know without doubt that R&D is paramount to their continued survival Is it enough research probably not as there could always be more! It just takes time baby steps is the way science always advances. In the various scientific disciplines the advancement varies medical is currently taking giant steps. While energy is taking steps forward corporations know that fossil fuels are finite and for their own survival they know that they must find alternative fuels. It is my belief that currently the free market is working in spite of what folks like The communist in office and Al Gore are telling the many. Y'all just don't see it every day like I do. I really love my job because in my small little way I truly believe I am providing the facilities for science via faculty and students do there thing! I really do feel extremely blessed!
