I suppose you could also ask youself : ' what band or artist haven't you listened or gotten into yet knowing that one day you should?

I'll start with Genesis, the cure, most classical music dudes, 2pac, bill evans and the rolling stones...

Have you been locked away in a closet since you were born? Have you never listened to any media (television, radio, etc.). Apart from the Beatles the Rolling Stones have to be THE most played band in history. Even by accident you must have heard the Rolling Stones. Later...

i am referring to bands you have respect for without fully knowing
their music, not enough at least. Not bands you have never heard of....

My short list..

Ironically, earlier today I heard a late 80's- early 90's group on the radio that I forgot about. "Morphine" was an awesome trio with blues, rock and jazz influences. They played an unorthodox combination of instruments. Drums, baritone sax, and two string bottle neck slide bass. The bass player"Mark Sandman",sang and composed. He has since passed on. I decided to pick up a C.D or two of their work If it's still available..

As strange as it may seem, there is a lot of Stones that I never "got into", as well as later Zappa, later Neal Young, and even some Dylan!

Captain Scott, Saliva's "Ladies and Gentleman," was an awkward album. I liked it, but the problem was it is very weak for them, their older stuff is better.

I guess I could say every band? Lol. I mean the only band I really know heavily about is Metallica, which is sad, I should know more about other bands. So I really need to take a deeper look into all types of bands.

I know a little about Saliva.

They were called Blackbone before they became Saliva. We had a cover band and they used to do opening sets for us. Those guys were determined. I can remember them playing with us in Memphis on a thursday night then they would go to Dallas for a friday night gig and then somewhere in Arizona for sat and then back to Memphis for sunday night.

Josey and one of the guitarist are the only members left from Blackbone. They were heavier back then than they are now musically and kind of one dimensional to me. Every song sounded the same to me. There is no telling how many miles they put on that old van they used to drive.

I have been reacquainting myself with early era Blue Oyster Cult.
Great stuff there.

my favorite band is anyone that gets that magic moment to express collectively a way forward, not to be normal... but it's only a flash in the pan. each band passes the torch, and may get the torch many times,but they can't be president for life. i saw spray painted on a wall at the University of Michigan the words "All music is ancient !" as musicians, we have opportunities to break on thru to the other side.

I guess that would be more Rush and Pink Floyd. Love both bands but didn't "get into them" as much as I should.

Morphine is absolutely king size!! I can't get into any Dylan or Neal Young.
