Being a moderator on a forum is not fascism. For goodness sake pal.

The two guys chosen as mods were I suspect, chosen because of all of us, they are historically the most helpful to new guys. Check their posts - being a mod on a web forum is a useful role.

I perceive that you have had an unpleasant experience with a mod on some other site. Has nothing to do with Mike and George. Cut those guys some slack and move on. Seriously.

Mike stay on point and stay on base. Yes I have had a problem with a local paper that was protecting their political propaganda against my political propaganda.

They did it by installing CENSORS that made it nearly impossible to post anything in disagreement, EVEN IF IT WAS DONE IN A RESPECTFUL MANNER. It is their site. So much for freedom of the press. So much for freedom of the people.

I think you should read GTs thread. I think you should rethink the whole position that this is not a big deal. I think that you should not be concerned with SPAM. I don't think that has ever been a major problem here. Between everyone ignoring it and bandmix dealing with it.

It's not hard to do either. If you don't want someone insulting you, just don't insult them. Pretty simple. Most forums have an almost identical TOU and that's basically what it tries to do, get you to do things that way.

Of course we always have malcontents who refuse to do so, even though they originally did agree to. Which makes them completely dishonest...and they know where the door is, or can be booted out of it either way is fine with me.

Ahh, but you did when you clicked on the 'I Agree' button when you signed up! Everyone here did, or you wouldn't have got an account set up.
Now, as a adult you can choose to stay, to go, to try to adhere to these terms, or to violate them and risk deletion of your posts or of your account by the administrators. See, you're an adult, you can choose for yourself how to behave (or not)!

Nobody here has an account that predates the TOU. I've been here almost a year longer than you and I digitally signed it when I joined. The TOU had been in existence then for as long as the site existed, and I'm not sure how long that is. So that comment was just plain wrong. But you don't have to believe me, contact Bandmix and ask them, I'm pretty sure they have a record of every signup.

What Mike said is fact, and the same thing I said as well. The fact that you have an account here means you did agree to the TOU, period. Joining is impossible without doing so and always was.

You can take it a step further actually, the ISP you get your Internet from has a TOS (Terms of Service) or TOU that's usually almost identical to the one Bandmix uses, and it states the same thing.

So by posting spam or insulting and harassing people you're actually violating two legally binding agreements both of which say the same basic thing.

Their house, their rules. It really is that simple. If a poster is simply unwilling or unable to play within the TOU, show em the door. Everything we need to know here we learned in kindergarten. If a kid is unable to play within the socially accepted playground rules, he gets removed from the playground.
