George and I have been granted moderator rights on this forum, We cannot delete profiles - but like any member, we can report members to the site administrators. So if you disagree with anything George and I might say/do, you can certainly let them know. But don't start a fight with no basis other than the fact that the forum now has 2 known moderators, when previously it was the 'administrators' - people you don't know, that as far as you know don't post here regularly, may not even be musicians - who could delete posts that were deemed to violate the terms that everyone agreed to when they signed up here.

Ahh, but you did when you clicked on the 'I Agree' button when you signed up! Everyone here did, or you wouldn't have got an account set up.
Now, as a adult you can choose to stay, to go, to try to adhere to these terms, or to violate them and risk deletion of your posts or of your account by the administrators. See, you're an adult, you can choose for yourself how to behave (or not)!

Already you begin to show signs of being the Bandmix Gestapo by brow beating other members with the rules. That certainly didn't take long. Some people simply do not handle authority well.

Freedom of speech is allowing the things that you disagree with to be expressed, not simply the things with which you agree. People who seek to be moderators are akin to politicians who desire office to lord their views over others. I already find this forum less free.

People grow by allowing diversity, not by banning it.

Slacker, grow up.
I started this thread because I said I wouldn't comment any further on Glenny's childish ranting thread. Now you start whining without any just cause as well.
1) Billy (Paleopete) couldn't find the link to the forum 'rules', so I posted the relevant (to the forum) terms here with a description on where people could go to read them. How, exactly, do you define 'browbeating'? I point out to someone (gtzip) who said he didn't agree to the rules that he did, in fact, agree to them. That's being 'gestapo' in your mind?
2) Neither George nor I asked to be a moderator here, instead we were asked by the site administrators. I sense some jealousy, perhaps, because you weren't asked?

If you are already 'finding this forum less free' tell me exactly how you find it so - what part of it is in anyway different than a few days ago?
Don't go hurting yourself trying to come up with a realistic answer, because the only difference is that now any spam messages are going to be deleted in a more timely manner than previously, when no one was watching out for them.

As far as just 'ignoring' people like 'my willie', as was already pointed out in the original thread, having posts like his in these forums undermines the whole reason behind these forums being here - if it drives away potential new members and income from the site it is not in the site owners/administrators' best interest to allow it.

I've been on forums where the kind of politcal issue dick-swinging that goes on here is not allowed, be thankful that if you wish to rant away in that manner, no one is going to stop you. However, if any member reports one of your (or anyone else's) posts as being against forum rules, the administrators may take it in hand to do what they did with Jimmy Danger - which was to give him a warning. Ultimately, he was the one that decided that he would leave, he wasn't banned, and he could easily have come back after his warning.

I realize how the system works.
If you want to eat, you will push this button, but you have the full freedom to choose whether to eat or not.

It's just lawyer speak to cover their butts.

Under the "RULES" I find you are extremely harassing to me MIKE. I am finding you abusive with language such as the use of words calling me CHILDISH and telling Slacker to GROW UP.

I especially don't appreciate any terms such as "DICK SWINGING"
I don't know who you think you are... but you are extremely offensive.

I have no choice but to lodge a complaint against you, with the administrators, FOR BREAKING THE RULES.
