I knew it, soon as I read your post about not breaking strings, I knew I was hosed.
So yeah, last night I broke a d'Addario string on my Firebird while working on a song. The exception proves the rule however; those strings rarely break and hold their crispness much longer than most.
But more to your other thread - I grabbed my Strat which also had d'Addarios and it worked just fine.
