I am Thom Frazier. I don't know how I didn't see this thread as it is a sticky and all.

I have been singing all my life, self taught except what I heard my mother teach my sister. My mom is a vocalist and my father was a pianist. Anyway cool place. You guys/gals have some cool tunes.

I like lasagne, can live on mexican food, love all forms of muisc except country (no disrespect).

that's all I have to say right now because my fingers hurt from typing. Oh did I say I suck at typing?

anyway , be groovy to eachother

PEACE!
Thom

Hey Thom, welcome to BandMix! Yeah, this is a cool place, I like it here a lot.

And no offense taken about Country music, lol. I hate it, I have no problem saying that, or should I just say "I intensely dislike it," as not to be too extreme.

As far as food goes, I prefer Cuban cuisine.

Also, about the typing, you will pick up speed and get better at it the more you type. When I began typing in chatrooms they did what was known as "Fast roleplay," it is hard to explain, but it is like a digital combat system where your typing speed matters (Every second, literally, counts). I was a fast learner, within 6 months I was faster than almost everyone else. I type around 120-140 BPM, usually (I think I was faster back then, lol). I do have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome though, so if I go too fast for too long my hands ache (You can see where this could be troubling on guitar).

But yeah, just practice and you will pick up speed, your hands will also strengthen. I do transcription now, so my speed matters.

Peace out and good luck, GuitarAnatomy.

I am a accomplished musician seeking opportunity to serve in music ministry. Proficient pianist and bassist. Experienced arranger and producer, and can direct choral groups (choirs, chorales, small groups, praise teams). At home equally with traditional hymns as well as anything contemporary.

Hey all,
I guess I never officially introduced myself.

Some of you may know me already from this forum so here's a quick bio:

Obviously by my screen name, I love Kramer guitars !

While it may sound cheese-tastic, When I was 11, the song juke box hero came out, and I was hooked on that "one guitar", I knew the first time I heard it what I had to do.

Well growing up broke, I spent my first 8 years of guitar playing on borrowed 70's no-name beaters, broken amps. lousy shorted-out cables, the works. Had to self teach, but took a couple years of band on the saxophone, so I could read music and my high school offered advanced music theory courses, so I picked up what I could.

By 18, I had my first Kramer with a marshall amp, and started looking to join bands, and joined several where drugs and chicks were more important to the bandmates than the actual music. And that never works out.

I finally joined a working band with management and backers, which also fell apart right after I joined, of course, because of sex and drugs being their priority.

Then around age 22, life got a hold of me, of course I also thought "I have forever to make it" and put ambitions on the side and just did my own writing and recording for a few years.

And then a few years turned into a few more years. Then one day financial crisis hits and I had to pawn all my gear to pay the rent.

Eventually bought a crappy guitar and amp, but was no where nearly as good as what I had, so I started getting dissatisfied with my sound, and played less and less often, to which I became more and more dissatisfied with my playing, this downward spiral lasted about 12 years.

The URGE never left me though, I always still thought about music and guitar and about a year ago, finally financially secure, went in to GC and bought a new guitar, multi effect, keyboards, amp, digital 8 track recorder, and then found a sweet Kramer on ebay :)

Been upgrading and experimenting with new/better gear ever since, and of course, really boning up on my playing and getting back the groove.

About a month ago, I decided I was finally ready to re-enter the fray and started actively looking for a band, which brought me here....

Sorry for the book lol, sometimes It just feels good to pour it all out.

Nice story, man. Welcome to Band Mix, and it is fine that it was fairly long (Which it actually was not compared to some of the postings I have seen on here, lol).

Peace out and never give up your dreams!, GuitarAnatomy.

Hello, new here.
Originally set up a profile in hopes of my bandmate and I finally finding a drummer, and other musicians, but posting on a music/musician focused forum is all well and good too.
We're starting to get very serious about pursuing music.
It's always been a dream of mine to be in a band, play on stage, the whole nine yards.
So, I'm trying as hard as I can to jump start a music career.

Otherwise, it's an introduction, so I guess I should blab about myself?
I've been playing bass for just over a year, I know, not an impressive period of time, but I think I've come a long way.
I have a big interest in writing; I actually wanted to be an author for a long time.
That didn't really end up working out so well, at least I can continue to write with lyrics though.
As for lyrical content, I focus a lot on songs about hope, overcoming the troubles of life. I'm extremely corny.
I was born with a cleft lip and cleft palate, so inspiration is not hard for me to find, I hope to turn my awful experiences into something useful.
If things go well, maybe I can inspire others with my lyrics someday?
That would be nice.

Welcome to the Bandmix it up forum. Thanks for having music for me to listen to as well. Very interesting mix of blue and ragtime I'd say.
