Plenty of people misunderstand things like that by way of email.

My one buddy is/was the king of that. (the little turd)

"Tone" or flat out "sarcasm" is difficult to determine/understand by way of email.

It's the difference between saying "Ranger Rick and his big dog, Dick" and/or "Ranger Rick and his big dog dick".

If you ask me, you guys are making a mountain of a molehill.
Just agree to disagree and be done with it.

That's the fate of another friend and I, we both speak/spoke English but he gets things out of my email that are unintentional and he doesn't ask questions, he just assumes what I meant.

You can try to explain, but after a while you just say "faq it" and let the chips fall where they may.

NO Scotty... This guy has insulted a long list of great people for minor reasons. He is just plain not a pleasant person. He is getting a reputation as the AF. He is. I don't have any problem with him... he has a problem... with me.

Sorry I still have a set. Don't like it don't read it.

pshaw..

Water over the dam.

I know I got plenty of better things to do than bicker. I bet you do too.

Now who is the liar? You must really hate yourself and every one you come in contact with.

BULLSHITT!

...no doubt you noticed how he also "tongue in cheek" said 'go to hell'.....that's called humor. and he and EVERYONE else will understand what i said was also said tongue in cheek.

of course you know all this but are willing to appear a dunce by not acknowledging it.

again...that proves you to be either a total brainwipe or a shameless liar.

guess what....either way, you come off a chump.

masterfully played. now, pat yourself on the back for your efforts.

I don't have to pat myself on the back for dealing with some one that probably needs some help. Notice you have improved your vocabulary... Dunce, brainwipe, chump, shameless liar. You keep dragging your self down. You try to do this to everyone. You better get some help dude.
With your known violent tendencies you could really hurt some one.

Mark, I have had you on ignore for over a year. It was because of your goofy political leanings. REALLY, I just took you off last Monday. The recent political arguments between us are not a coincidence.
I still think you are an awesome musician, having said that your politics in my opinion are extremely UNFOUNDED!

Jeff, I don't think he is that good and his politics are pure progressive insanity. Wonder where that comes from.

Funny, there must have been some reason why you put him on ignore.

Don't feed the troll... Control the troll. Get it. :)

Political people make pathetic musicians, unless your music is suffering from the get-go.

The more I hear about politics, the more I realize that is all some of you got to talk about as you suffer from mediocrity.

Speak softly and carry a large musical stick.

"Play it, don't say it".

If you are playing and you want to talk political sh*t, make sure you wipe your mouth.

If you don't play much to not at all, you need to focus on what you want to do and stop being a fool. That should eliminate a few.

Are you running for office? no? then stfu. No one wants to hear that noise or we'd be watching Msnbc with the rest of the geriatric crew.
Are you playing anywhere or working on some music? no? Well then maybe you should.

Are you a musician or a politician?

One is an admirable trait, the other is just another pontificator who knows very little about the subject at hand, but that doesn't stop the annual "running of the mouths".

You know where we release the locals and we stone all the fake politicians to death and sink their bodies in the ocean. LOL

(You got a barbell I can borrow? I am all out of concrete.)

And if this keeps up, I can see a few more that will go on MY ignore list as this sh*t is as tired as your lucky condom from '82.

I'd rather listen to a cover band. (ecccch)

One of the poll choices should have been "no, I just ignore the stupid political wankering threads!"

scott, i hear you and i get where you're coming from. i'd say that 95% of the threads i've started have all been music related.

try as i do to keep out of the political arena on a "music site".....i sometimes come up short.

and then, after reading some pious, hateful, and holier than thou flag waving BS that i see to be nothing more than an excuse to discharge righteous indignation and an excuse to spew bile....all while the person is wrapping themselves up in Old Glory.....well, that's when my lack of discipline makes me wade in to give MY take on things.

w Jimmy D gone..... w the exception of Dane and the rare times Dead Gtrs is around to speak up ( another good musician and contributor who's made himself scarce) all the political stuff around here is right wing ballyhoo-ing.

and i can live w that up to a point. and i see no reason to level attacks and name at those who hold different views than myself.

nor do i think it's cool bringing anyone's ethnicity ("Jewboy supremist") into it.

lying...and distorting things, putting words in other's mouths, picking a fight and then laying it off on the other guy.....that's bush league chump behavior.

and when someone does pick a fight w me and resorts to that behavior...i'm gonna call 'em out on it everytime.

i told glen yesterday that in real life i try to limit my interaction w dishonest people so i should do the same here. and that's my PLAN. whether i can stick that or for how long...well, that's another question entirely.

i do hate liars and hypocrites so the next time i'm baited w more lies and hypocrisy i WILL try to ignore it....but i make no promises.

in the meanwhile i will continue to start musical threads and participate in other's.

i'm checking out of the political arena (for a while anyway).

Don't let minor annoyances get the best of you, that goes for all of you.

And if you don't play out, you shouldn't be talking so much sh*t.
You need to play more, not less.

My mother always taught me from day 1, "do not talk about politics, religion or sex at the table" especially at meal time.

I eat the music. This is what I subsist on. When anyone goes on a political rant, I cringe.

I like all of you, in my own way. lol I would be unhappy if I have to stop reading this forum, but I can tell you honestly I am sick to death of it.

MUSIC-MUSIC-MUSIC.. speak music and open your mind.

Do not talk politics that really has little to nothing to do with you and attempt to start fires that no one can put out. You are just pissing off the world and gee, I always thought that was my job.

And if you want to be rude and obstreperous, I can make you look like the child you are. You want it to get really ugly? Pull start me, people.

My mouth is a chainsaw and I have plenty of gas.

Stop yapping like small dogs fighting over a dirty hotdog in the road.

If I pissed ya off, stick me on ignore because shortly I will be doing it to you or I'll simply just stop coming here, your choice.

I do not need to read this vitriol on a daily basis.

Yes Mark, but if you go around calling the world out on everything, that's a lot of rocks you have to dodge.

Better to pick some battles and leave some others alone.

I know your upset, but politics seem to do that to everyone.

Thick skin, brother. I find it hard to believe that you let that penetrate.

I do not care what others say about me behind my back, for I consider the source even more than what is being said.

I do not care what Internet identities hiding behind screen names have to say for they mean nothing to me in my daily life. Unless friendships are formed, they all simply disappear with the single push of a button. Few even use their real names. Yet when someone that I respect has something to say, I will listen.

However, when some ones posts constantly remind me of Rosie O'Donnell, I put them on my “Ignore list”. That is where I draw the line. When I see her on TV, I instantly change the channel, for she has nothing to contribute other than making caustic remarks. And I prefer not to hear another’s stupidity and caustic remarks? It was quite astute for the creators of this site to add an ignore button  :)
