I know, if you are truly interested in something other than the agenda the con men are pushing.. Use your brain and find a field that gives you the opportunity to advance based upon what you bring to the work environment. That is the way it has been done for those not inheriting a pile of money.

Simply be creative and find something other people need / want... and provide that service. Then drop the gimme your money BS. Your greed and dissatisfaction will consume you in the end. Success has been and can be achieved by nobodys. It is God who prospers whom he wishes to prosper. Pissing and moaning about other peoples success is detrimental to your own. If you have land, if you have a home, if you are clothed and fed then you have all that you truly need. Hundreds of millions of people only dream of having those basic things.

The other way is the Biblical way. Give God thanks for what you have and do not envy or covet what your brother has. All counting other peoples success without making an effort to insure yours only brings dissatisfaction and division.

But then the Communist/Marxist/Socialist way is to point out income disparagement and bring division until only those leading the party have all the money. Check and see how many crooked politicians (that includes pretty much every one of them) have become millionaires or billionaires since they went into the government con game?

That is where we are headed. Ever take note that the Leaders in China, North Korea, Mexico, Russia, and in every other totalitarian regime only the "leaders" live like royalty while the people scrounge for food shelter and clothing? Right now the politicians are depending on the greed and covertness of the people to secure their positions of complete power. As soon as the politicians pushing the Utopian Society achieve that to their satisfaction they will turn on those who supported them.

Anyone who can't see that truly has their head up their a$$. History repeats itself. :)
your reply is not what I was trying to point out, I am saying opportunity to get to the level you are recommending is growing smaller.. remember, there are only SO MANY DOLLARS in circulation, and when more and more of those dollars are being sucked up by just a few corporations/business entitys that have weeded out the rest of their competition then the suffering continues for the lower classes of society.. if it was as easy as your answer Slacker then everybody would be doing it.. and becoming successful, which in the eyes of many equates to riches and wealth..

Dane,

It doesn't matter how many opportunities you believe there are. It doesn't matter how many dollars you believe there are. It doesn't matter how corrupt a business is. As I said before, if God wants you to prosper he will prosper you. As a Christian you should know that it is God who makes both the evil and the Godly prosper as he wishes. The evil man did not get rich through his own devices, and neither does the righteous man.

A person can either be content and thankful for what God has given him, or he can go through life grumbling and being discontented about whom God has blessed be they evil or good.

I am not wealthy yet I am content for God has blessed me spiritually with the knowledge of him which I find more rewarding than all the wealth I could have. I do not need wealth because God meets all my needs and neither do I want for anything.

For that reason I do not even care in the slightest who has the most money and neither do I care how they got it. That is between them and God. For me to grumble about how God apportions that which belongs to him is for me to be a busy body. Basically a busy body is one who complains or wishes to take stewardship of that which God has not appointed him to be a steward. In other words, a meddler in Gods affairs.

We all have more than enough to contend with in our own personal lives, of which we are stewards. I have food, clothing, shelter, and a few friends. (Although my dog is my best friend.) That is good. As Christians we would be far happier to count our own blessings as opposed to counting another's blessings. Are we who believe in God not taught this?

Do not envy what your brother has, neither his wealth his wife or anything that God has given to him.

It does not say if he is evil we can covet what he has. All complaining does is to rob us of enjoying what we have. :)

Exactly Slacker. I don't care what my colleague earns - I care about what I earn. Fair? What the hell does that mean?

There is a parable about that, where Christ tells of the business man who hired workers at different times of the day yet paid them all the same.

In the end - if we all work hard and mind our own business we tend to do pretty well.

"But that's all over now..." Lather - Jefferson Airplane.

Wrong Wrong Wrong.
When General Mills produces a box of cereal... They do it very efficiently. It leaves the factory costing .20 cents. By the time it gets to the store shelf it costs $4.00. Why? WHY?

Because big and small government have imposed taxes at every step of the process of getting that box to the consumer. I have explained this before and I don't feel like explaining it again.

If you are a wealthy person $4.00 means nothing... If you are a poor person that box of cereal is now a painful purchase. WHY?

BECAUSE OF THE VERY TAXES, THAT EVERYONE IS BEING TOLD, ARE HELPING THE POOR.

Well don't you think the solution is not to buy GM cereals? I don't care what the government or the companies make. I don't care how they get it for I know, as a Christian, that God has everything under control. If you study the word of God you will find that it is God who allows the greedy to prosper.

I am not wealthy and I don't buy food that is over priced. Since the Bible teaches that it is God who prospers both the evil and the righteous I have no problem with what anyone makes. It is NOT MY BUSINESS, it is Gods business. And it is also Gods business to melt out judgment. It is of no consequence to me whether the regime distributes money to those who do not deserve it either. That is a test of their moral makeup not mine. I only need to live within the means that God has given to me.

Mike, you are so right on. :)

a very worthy re-print

CREDITS: AP News Service

EDINBURG, Texas (AP) — Hilda Vasquez squirreled away the money for her U.S. citizenship application by selling batches of homemade tamales at South Texas offices. Carmen Zalazar picked up extra babysitting jobs at night after caring for kids all day in Houston.

The women scrimped and saved for months to pay for the $680 application, but for other applicants in the future, it might not be enough.

As President Barack Obama renews his quest for immigration reform, some proposals would impose fines of $2,000 on top of application fees, making the financial hurdles much taller for people who are here illegally.

"You have more rights when you are a citizen, like to vote," said Zalazar, a legal resident. As soon as she started a citizenship class, "I started to save because I knew otherwise it won't be possible."

The struggle is familiar to millions of immigrants. A 2012 survey by the Pew Hispanic Center showed that only 46 percent of Hispanic immigrants eligible to become citizens had done so. The top two reasons were lack of English skills and lack of money to pay for the application.

Dane, why are you so concerned about Mexicans? What about American Indians? They are the ones that REALLY got screwed! Stop talking out both sides of your mouth son. On one hand you talk about how bad you feel for them and on the other you talk of exploiting them for cheap labor?

to my knowledge, I have never talked about exploiting them, I have said I am greatful they will do the work most Caucasians and Blacks will not do at that price they do it at.. when I left North Carolina in 1992 for Missouri, all you would see working the tobacco fields were Mexicans.. 50 years ago Blacks did the tobacco work.. and let me tell you, a lot of work goes in to tobacco farming.. topping, etc. ..

No man runs his own life. That is the beginning of understanding. It is written:

We humans make plans, but the LORD has the final word.

We make our own plans, but the LORD decides where we will go.

We are either slaves to good, or we are slaves to evil, but we are slaves none the less.

I guess under your logic, the red light you just ran and got a ticket for...

Wasn't there 200 years ago. Undocumented IS NOT THE WORD. They are LAW BREAKERS. There is NO semantic dancing here.

Do you understand the meaning of law breaker? If you rob a bank should you not be punished, because you are an undocumented bank robber?
