Have you seen the 2014 deluxe strat plus?
Looks like some cool innovations.

I may be looking for a new strat later this year. I would have to go for one of those in an HSS configuration!

Can't watch a demo video at work, but it looks like the Deluxe Plus adds a USB output. Guess that would be good if you want to plug into an iDevice or computer regularly, but if you are a home recordist, you've already got a good audio interface.
I see there are a couple of other models, including one that has some type of card that adjust pickup tones, now that sounds pretty good!

Mr. Haley

My Lonestar American HSS is so far, the best strat I've ever played both for sound and playability. Two other players I know have purchased them after playing mine.

Sorry, I'm a not a Strat guy, just from the feel. However I do understand the difference in tone. I find this interesting, and many, many great songs have been recorded with Strats. I am not putting them "down"

Just find it interesting. ANYONE want to convince me to try a Strat again?

I'm listening, 'cause I've heard many good things coming from you Strat players.

I didn't play a Strat until I began playing again after 25 years or so. A Strat copy was the first thing a friend sent to me to get me playing again. Even though it was made out of lead plywood I still liked the way it "fit" and I loved the single pickup sound. When I was gigging I only played Gibson and Epi big box "F" hole guitars.

When I told a friend that I was hooked on Strats he said "Once you play Strat you never go bat." So far he is right as least for me.

A luthier friend of mine has the most beautiful tobacco burst Tele I've ever seen...and he's letting it go for $850.

If only I could justify another electric guitar, that would be it.
