latest contacts:
2 different local bands looking for a lead guitarist. Electric. Evidently reading comprehension was not a requirement - my ads/profiles all specifically say (mostly) acoustic. One of them was a band that had contacted me a week ago, too.
Then a girl backup singer. I'd seen her CL ad - just wants to sing back up and do some percussion stuff. Guess she doesn't do well with reading comprehension either.

Saw an ad for just what I was looking for, but about 45 miles north of me in Concord. Not too far as far as I'm concerned, but the band thinks it is because the guy who quit did so due to distance.

Last night at the open mic talked to one guy, 2nd in a week, who asked me if I was doing solo shows anywhere, and I had to explain once again that I really can't (and don't want to) do 3-4 hour solo shows myself.

Next week will be 'time off' from playing/searching, heading to Daytona on Wednesday for 5 days in the (hopefully) sun and warmth for the Rolex 24 sportscar race.

Perhaps it's not a reading comprehension issue.
The wise searcher understands that it's about making contacts.
People know people, even if your add was not specifically what I was looking for, the fact your actively seeking would lead me to make contact.

It's called networking.

P.S. Enjoy your time out. 8)

George - you've got too rosy an outlook on people! Judging by people I run across every day (mostly at work) reading comprehension is a major concern in this country!

Me . . . rosy ? LOL

Obviously we don't know each other so well.

But I do try to look at things from a practical perspective as much a possible.

As far as your general assessment of mankind . . . you know it.
