well, vinny we can disagree on whose words those are....but my thanks were to you for taking the time to put 'em up and demonstrate something other than malicious and self serving motivations to quote scripture.

so, from "The Banker" i found these lines particularly interesting:

i'm reading a book on Buddy DeFranco and he was asked why jazz was always more popular in Europe. to paraphrase.....he said something along the lines of "in Europe they don't have the slavish devotion to TV that Americans have, and so they're willing to go out for their entertainment"

i found that an interesting (and likely accurate) take on it.

Regarding the 'saints shared all things' scripture. Yep. However, some time later on you'll note Paul took up a collection from all the believers in Rome and Greece to bail out the folks in Antioch and Jerusalem who learned, as we always learn and re-learn, that socialism sounds pretty good but in reality, it simply does not work.

We are in no way supposed to infer from that scripture that Christians should be socialists. The last dummies to try that where the Pilgrims - luckily the Indians bailed out the survivors and then they got wise.

I should add that neither are we supposed to grab all the goodies we can and ignore a brother in need. The Epistle of James has a few choice words to say about that.
