Vocal coach Pete Strobl went through the same music program I did about 40 yrs ago and we still keep in touch. Here he does another interview where he shares his views on vocal music, musicianship, recording, the state of the music business and plenty of other tidbits from a guy who has truly lived it. I always find his frank, no BS views refreshingly familiar. Check it out:

He is doing a voice workshop in Maryland next year if any of you on the East Coast like what he has to say and are interested in improving your craft.

Good article, thanks for sharing. WOuld love to attend one of those workshops, Maryland's too far for me. Most likley I'd feel like PeeWee Herman singing next to NeanderPaul in comparison to the others there!

Bah!
Good one Mike. One of the things about Pete is that he is less interested in what skills you bring to the table, and more interested in how bad you really want it and are you willing to give your all to improve your craft. Extraordinary effort and dedication are the things that keep him interested because he can really make a difference with those students. It's definitely not for everybody.
