The trouble maker inside me wants to ask ... now what would they sound like playing a Carnatic raga? Like mayamalavagowla?

ok vinnie, you were curious about what the RIGEL mandolin would like sound like playing a Carnatic Raga. Sadly, as far as my familiarity w raga....i know you pour it out of a jar, heat it up, and ladle it over pasta, right?

"Vinnie's Raga" has some goofy "sitar" played on my malletKAT and also Steinberger EUB (electric upright bass....the TRADITIONAL indian instrument. hehehe)

"Wombats" is an improvised gringo raga w the new mando. as the saying goes be careful what you wish for.

Thank you! That is some a nice sounding ah spaghetti ah sauce!!

Actually it sounds more Greek to me ... a rembetiko sort of feel. Nice!

I am honored to have a spaghetti raga in my name! You might be on to something, after all, spaghetti westerns were a hit ... maybe something like this could fit in a Bollywood Western?

You can throw in some garam masala into the Ragu to make it taste more like Uncle Ben's Curry,

.. in this case that'd be some gamakas for masala.

I've seen the videos and still can't play that stuff ... so at least you have an excuse!

Sorry about your trouble with youtube. It is difficult to guess the cause. Do you have wifi? Check if you have up to date flash player version. No background processes like Outlook doing an auto update etc.

For a 'work around' solution, you might try downloading the video and watching it from your drive. The Firefox browser has youtibe download extensions that are very handy for this.

Also in the YouTube player along the bottom right there is a little gear shaped icon, click it and it drops a menu that may let you choose a lower resolution of the video that might play more easily.

Wish you luck getting that fixed!

Oh ... and if you end up having to call for technical assistance with your computer problem,
... don't forget to ask the guy at the call center if he can also tell you about gamakas. :D
