our President needs 39,000 people a day to sign up to make it a success.. if it's true as reported by Tea Party FAUX news and only 200+ people signed up the first day then we need volunteers educating the masses at outdoor rallys to get it going.. :P

Love ya like a brother, Dane. You keep me smiling. But tell me, what is the weather like on your planet? How many moons does it have? It is supposed to snow here tomorrow. Does it snow there? :)

A friend used to go hunting Pheasants every fall. He asked me if I wanted some of them. I got a couple, cooked them and threw them away. Tough, gamey tasting, full of buckshot UGGG.

He said I was cooking them all wrong and that I should put them in the oven and cover them in Cream of Mushroom soup . Right. Then you can't taste them so what's the point?

Slacker, don't you remember I told you I spent most of my first 24 years of life as an Iowan?.. grew up in Chariton? darn good pheasant hunting in Derby and Humeston.. and went every weekend I could muster.. if I was not trapping muskrats which I liked doing even more, there used to be good money selling muskrat hides till the Conservatives in Hollywood started making those blood spattering anti-fur commercials..LOL .. there is some skill that goes into trapping.. granted, a skillful shot is required to knock down a pheasant.. I truly miss Iowa but so blasted cold in the winter..

I know Dane, but sometimes you can miss one or two. Funny you mentioned Muskrats. I was down by the river the other day and saw something like looked like a fur coat wadded op on the grass. As I got closer it moved. It was a muskrat that had to be at least 35lbs. That's what my dog weighs and it was bigger than he is. I just kept my distance from it.

No on the Slacker. I used to go by "Scooter Trash" on the "Sturgis Rally and Races" bulletin board. After I dissed the boss for charging us for the web cam view a week before the rally, a group of us were banned. (He didn't have much of a tolerance for criticism) He let us all back again in but he wouldn't let us retrieve our former screen names. He did drop the charging his customers for the cams though. I think they are still up and running. When the biker rally is going on (2nd full week in August) you can watch it on your computer.

Actually Bob was a good guy. He threw several parties for the posters on the board that were rather fun.

The cams are still operating. Looks like they had some snow.

Slacker - Don't worry too much, muskrats will usually run from you, in fact I'm surprised you saw one up close, they usually scoot before you know they are anywhere near.

Yeah, but this one was big enough to whip me and my dog and he knew it. When an animal doesn't leave when I approach it I leave. You never know if it could be rabid. :)

That what I always think when I see a nocturnal animal in the day.. RABID !!!!!

I don't know if is nocturnal, not much experience with muskrats but anything big enough not to run with myself and the dog is enough to make me want to leave.

If he bites the dog, I am in deeper than if he bit me!

there are no such things as 35LB. muskrats.. either it was a beaver or a nutria.. nutria basically live in the south, but who knows what swims up the Missouri River at St. Louis confluence..? but with all the ferilizer and pesticide runoff you might have been the first to observe a mutant muskrat deformed by genetically modified field corn?

I see Nutria rats quite often as I live in the south. I haven't seen one that weighs 35 lb.'s the biggest one I have seen weighs possibly 20 lb. most are the size of a very small dog in the 10 to 15 pound range.
