Go Capn. One should not Generalise but in a polar world its hard not to.
I dont see gray (except in my hair) all is black and white ,wrong or right.
Ive tried very hard of late to get into the military. Isigned up for selective service on my birth date in 1976. In my youth much distracted by sex drugs and rock n roll. The Army and Guard say im to old. The Navy and Air Force would have use me as a Nurse, But since my degree is ADN not BSN or MSN they declined my 13 plus years of experience not withstanding. So I will do my best to make a difference where I am.
Good Luck. I will pray for you. Do not be offended.

Sanshouheil, how dare you pray for people! That is a horrible thing! Lmao. I am just kidding with you. I think people know what you mean, man.

Look, maybe you cannot get into the armed services, but your services are definitely necessary here. You could volunteer when there is an emergency in this country (i.e. natural distasters). As an RN your help would be very much appreciated I am sure.

As we all know, there is a major shortage of doctors and nurses. So anyone we can get to help out at local shelters, or during natural disasters, or any other kind of disaster would be great. I know once I make it through my years of studying medicine that I would like to help out around the country where it is needed.

Peace out, GuitarAnatomy.

Yes. It's becoming a foregone conclusion. I am a crack shot, have been since 10 years old.

I am scared of the desert. If you get separated from the column, it's a bad way to go. Alone and out of water, miles from anything even remotely hospitable.

But I am more scared of the people I will kill and the forgiveness I may not get. I am unsure that "because the army says so" qualifies as a good reason to kill other human beings.

Other than that, I qualify in many ways. I have no immediate family, no kids etc. I am single. I also have a para-military background.

In short, killing is easy IF one had a good reason. And that seems like a HUGE IF to me. Only thing worse than being good at something is being good at something for all the wrong reasons.

And for the record, you can pray for me all you want. I would never become offended no matter who you worship. (well almost) (no devils/demons/evil that's a big no-no) lol

I saw a post done by a Chaplin in the Middle East. His take on it was this in a nut shell. A soldier whom fights in good faith and good intent in the defense of the defenseless is free of the blame. (even if unknown to him his commanders true intent.) and now I paraphrase It is the hand of God who strikes down those whom visit evil upon the innocent. Not the hand holding the sword.

There were multitudes of soldiers like that, all wearing belt buckles that said "Gott Mit Uns" ("God is With Us" in German).

yep yep yep.....it's a shame that most people are ignorant of good. i think this is what makes them bad..... if we go the extra mile and do good by others always and turn the other cheek when not reciprocated maybe we can change the world.that to me is a good service to this world

mind you today i did a great diservice to that philosophy...i'll explain. my boss today decided he could scream at me(like a b@#$%).. I DID NOT TURN THE OTHER CHEEK. i'v never seen anybody bitc@ up so fast . He knew he was inches from a beat down........I 'm sorry to say I showed my as#. I feel bad now.....No I Did not lose my job......And yes he apologized all day long................I keep telling everybody I'm not a pushover i just believe in being good and very patient. those that are ignorant to good will not recognize good.they see it as weakness....................Inches from a beat Down. THE mother f!@#$%^. he won't do that again....hopefully to anybody..

You have nothing to be sorry about. All too often, people interpret "turn the other cheek" as "I am a doormat".

The Gods are repulsed by willing victims. Don't be one.

Sounds like you have a balance. Which I am a firm believer in. You are right to be kind and patient, but sometimes you are forced to stand your ground. The good thing, is that when you are normally understanding and forgiving, no one forgets that day that you gave it to them. They will all take note, and it is unlikely to happen again soon. You earned more respect, not less.

All that is required for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.
That is why you constantly hear on the news about some woman being raped in public and no one stops to help. or an 80 yr old man gettin the crap beat out of him as people just walk by and watch. And I am aware of the evil that has been done in the name of God as well. My last name is Heil, my forefathers left Germany when they saw what was taking place, at risk to there lives. more of them returned under arms to stop it.

I can definitely agree with that one, and that was brave of your forefathers to go back and try and stop it.

My uncle who saw much combat will tell you he was not a brave man. Just a man scared shitless doing what had to be done for his Family and Country. I get the same story from many of the Vets of his generation. I have worked with many of them in the oilfields of Texas. Even some of the Boys from Pearl Harbor. One Grumpy old gangpusher whom everyone but me was afraid to work for was an artillaryman. He worked 40 years with Mobil Oil with never a day off sick. One more hell of a man.

Well, no matter what the danger any man should be willing to risk his life for his family and his country (If the country is in danger, and it is not a joke like the Iraq war, at least that is my opinion).

Peace, GuitarAnatomy.

You have a right to have and voice your opinion GA, thats what my relative were fighting for. (as long as you dont insult Islam in about 30% of the world , that will get you killed). Glad were here in America together even if we disagree sometimes. Of course, If you were severly mentally disabled, I could tie a remote control bomb to you and send you to the pet store, blow up some children in the name of god. Why on earth people would volunteer just to fight against something like that is beyond me. Why should we in our comfortable homes care how many Kurdish children get mustard gassed. After all we can just give a few bucks to the ASPCA that should fix it.
Sorry, yea I know I,m a smart ass.
