I started touring 3-5 concerts monthly in 2003, went to 100 concerts a year by 2005…but in 2006 it went nuts and I've been doing 150-200 concerts a year since then. Changing residence almost every day for 8 years is taking it's toll. I've been disoriented for several years now.

A couple of weeks ago I just got tired of being tired and decided I'm coming off the road; and for the foreseeable future I'm only going to play where I can drive home from (except for concerts already on the books through March 2014)

So I'm only playing 3 times this week…all of those between 7 PM Friday and 9 PM Saturday in San Antonio.

Feels like a vacation.

Had a personal tragedy recently. Lost a granddaughter that only lived 2 days. Haven't really felt like talking to anyone…but I come back and jimmy's gone???

Ted, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I can't imagine what you are going thru! Being a Grandfather myself I know that has to hurt beyond belief!

As far as the music goes I always say when one door closes another always opens! Hang in there Bro!

Yod - very sorry to hear of the loss of your granddaughter - God bless her. I love little girls so much since I met my own granddaughters - terrible shame.

JimmyD? Don't know but I think he got baited to the max by our newest troll and ran into trouble. He an I never agreed on much politically but got along just fine because we didn't call each other names and both love the music. I felt he mattered as part of this forum.

Thanks, Jeff

There is plenty of opportunity so it's not like I'm retiring. I have decided to form a band again in Dallas. Someone shoot me now.

But I really can't believe that jimmy's gone. did you do that, Jeff?

She lived less than 2 days. That really makes me grasp the value of every day, ya know? Life is precious and people are throwing it away all the time.

I am not looking forward to that funeral.

No Jimmy and I were actually getting along. It was that mywillie jerk. As bad as things got between JimmD and I, I never complained about him to the mothership. The first time I have ever complained about anyone on this forum was yesterday about mywillie! Buh Bye mywillie!

So sorry for your loss Ted. I read about it as things were unfolding on FB and I understand your desire to be close to home and family right now. Take care my brother!

Did 4 songs last night, including Lou Reed's Sweet Jane. Had people singing along and dancing to 'Signs' and 'Hang On Sloopy'. Fun time, but it was a private club that allows smoking. When I left the place I reeked - had to drive with the windows open. I had forgotten what it used to be like in the old days when bars would be smoke-filled all the time.

My throat is still hurting today. There has been ' no smoking in public (work) places here for many years. Obviously, not in Missouri.

Man . . .

All I can do is to offer my deepest condolences YOD

I have many children and grandchildren and I cherish each and every one.

May the Lord bless and keep you and your family in this dark hour.

My love to you all as well . . .
