Here, a music post. I dug through my old posts to youtube. I played the bass, guitar, and sang it. A THIRTEEN year old buddy played the drums! All the guitar work is on a Samick, lime green, acoustic guitar with a single coil peavey pick up and electric strings. I recorded the audio at a Radio station where I was working at the time. The video is totally ghetto.

That song is by Earl King! ... so it's a cover of Jimi's cover of Earl's song.

That's a fact. I never knew his name was Earl. I always read E. King as the credit.

Earl King was big in 60's New Orleans music.

Instrumentally I always thought "Trick Bag" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJ7IkhdXb7U was a more interesting tune.
The lyrics to "Come On" are a lot happier though.

In another thread here recently about all time favorite songs I chose "Big Chief" by Earl King http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0IOyBwrvOKA

Your version of "Come On" is pretty well done, as a nod toward the Hendrix version.

Thanks Glen! Hard to believe it's been that long. Probably around 11 years.

I wear those out in about two years unfortunately. I'm down from 6 pairs to just 2. I ran the Samick through a solid state fender amp.
