What it was I have no idea, but something a couple of miles away and well lit while in the Bermuda Triangle no less, (navy ship) zipped across the sky at least 30 miles toward the left, then twice that far to the right, then at a steep angle upwards and out of sight...all in less than 3 seconds...nothing man made can do that. Or stop, turn around and go the other direction, much less that fast. Don't know what it was, I was just out looking around at the stars...zillions of them out there 300 miles from land at night...it's like nothing I've ever seen...I went out and looked every night while at sea. Amazing...but that was the only time I saw anything like that.
4 or 5 years ago looking around the sky trying to decide where to point my telescope next, something in the vicinity of the Orion constellation but in our atmosphere blinked 3 times and was not seen again. No tower lights there, no planes in the sky, no movement...and no I had not ingested anything interesting either time...
As far as intelligent life goes, I think it's a mathematical impossibility that life elsewhere cannot exist. Billions of galaxies, with billions of stars in each and our little backwoods planet here in the Milky Way is the only one with any sort of life? Sorry but I cannot believe that. I would not be surprised to find that life exists elsewhere in this galaxy.
Many ancient cultures have left behind lots of distinct clues that they not only saw but had in person contact with beings not of this planet. Carved into the rocks of Mayan architecture, Greek, Chinese, Native American and basically everywhere else in the world are depictions of bipedal beings that can only be described as wearing helmets that strongly resemble what our astronauts wear. Rock carvings that can only be interpreted as flying mechanical vehicles. A toy found in South America thousands of years old that is a definite replica of a type of airplane. A copy was built, scaled up to about a 2 foot wingspan, electric motor installed and it flew perfect.
Then there's Roswell...1st news reports stated specifically that a Unidentified Flying Object had crashed. Next day the government insisted it was a weather balloon...can you say cover up?
Many ancient cultures, including the Hopi, have ancient legends that claim they originated from "star people". Sanskrit tablets have been found that say the same thing. More of them than I can remember off hand...
I've seen too much to deny it, I've read too many books, I will never believe we humans are the only life in the universe, much less intelligent life...With billions of galaxies out there, it's virtually mathematically impossible that life hasn't developed elsewhere.
And for those of you who hold strong religious beliefs, show me where in the Bible it says we were the ONLY ones created...or any other religious book for that matter. Intelligent life elsewhere does not conflict with anything the Bible says, because it does not say we are the only intelligent life in existence. Just on this planet. Even the Vatican announced a couple of years back that they were using their observatory to search for signs of life elsewhere. Implying that extraterrestrial life would not conflict with their religion.
