excellent presentation and explaination of that tuning. open tunings are the bomb, eh?

cool too how you're getting some acoustic tone off the camera's mic. i'll sometimes do that w my archtops when recording.

Thanks guys. It has been well received on cigarboxnation.com. Some players Are genuinely relieved to find this information.

Pretty good. Didn't watch the whole vid, might later not a lot of time and I already know how to use open tunings too. I use open G, D and E for slide a lot, and have written a couple of pieces in open G. (Silhouette of A Daydream is one of those.)

I did catch the first sound clip of you playing it, excellent distortion sound from that thing. Soon as our band gets things rolling I'd like to get a couple of things recorded, particularly of my old '66 Harmony through the Fender Champ...

But right now recording is on the back burner till we get a full song list together. But we have some cool stuff lined up...

I'll catch the rest of it later, already checked out your other vid so I know it sounds good clean, I'm also wondering if you do much with open tunings on regular 6 string.

Sounds crazy Pete, but I am over 6 strings. I have no use. Don't even miss them.

Only a bunch of morons could delete a heartfelt message by myself towards Paul and his tutorial post.
There are Forums, and then there are forums. This one has gone that bit further and become personal policy.

Blasphemy!! Say it ain't so!!

lol...I can't imagine giving up 6 string. Sure something else would be cool to add to my arsenal, but giving up 6 string would be about like giving up breathing...

Yeah, 12 strings sometimes is needed! Might start shopping for an 18 string guitar, too!

Paul I hate to admit it but Ive been wanting a 8 string guitar, may just have to get one.

But if 4 strings, or 1 string will get the job done then by all means go for it!

My self taught methods produced limits. My ineffective techniques on a 6 string meant I was clumsy and clearly less of a player than I am a singer.

The CBG has been so easy that I could be as good a player as I am a singer.

For someone who is studly and commanding on a 6 string like JW123 the CBG would produce limits.

But for me it was like adding a turbo! Let the party begin!
