Yep, I'm gonna spam the forums ... :D

OK not really...well sort of...

What I want to do is actually just ask for a bit of help with getting the name out there. Christmas is coming up before long, lots of people will be thinking about gifts, and I'm sure some of them might like a nice picture on the wall.

I know most of the folks on Bandmix are starving musicians, I seriously doubt that I'd see any of you ordering prints, but you may have family, friends, co-workers, facebook contacts...I wouldn't know if you did anyway, I can only find out the city a buyer lives in.

People have been telling me I need to be selling my pictures for at least 10 years, I finally started listening...so...

I set up an account on a Print on Demand website. This is NOT a pay per click scheme, I hate those. Someone sees a picture they like and orders a print, the website prints it and send me my payment, and the site gets a reasonable fee for printing and shipping. Nobody makes a penny until someone orders a print, and since they have a 30 day return policy, I get my money a month later.

As I said I don't see anyone on Bandmix ordering anything, most of us are just too broke. I wouldn't know anyway, all I can find out is the buyer's city. Fat lot of good that does me...It does bug me that I can't even send a thank you note, but we're working on that.

What I'm hoping some of the people on Bandmix will do is take a look, I'll post the link below and it's always in my signature, if you think my work is good enough, tell your contacts. Friends, family, facebook and so forth, maybe someone will see something they like or decide someone they know might like it for Christmas.

So in a nutshell, help me get the word out that I have some photography out there I think is pretty good.

Thanks a bunch to anyone who decides to help out, I've let my friends know already, all 4 of them...that's the biggest problem, I know very few people, I'm pretty reclusive, don't get out much and to be honest I'm not that good with publicity...

very nice work, as I've mentioned before. These days I don't know anyone who would pay $32 for an unframed 8x10, though.
I used to sell photos of sports cars and would get $10 for an 8x10 if it was an exceptional (different) photo, but typically about $5. 12-14 years ago, when everyone had P&S 35mm cameras my business dried up, and digital has only exacebrated (sp) the problem for photographers.
I sold all my 35mm gear last year and now shoot with a Sony P&S. I've won $1500 from my company for calendar pictures - more than I ever made doing prints!

I'll share the link on Facebook!

Thanks a lot guys.

deadguitars - Don't know what caterpillar that is, don't have my book with me or time to look it up right now, important stuff to do this afternoon.

GuitarMike - I've been doing this for 30 years, only recently got into digital, but that's pretty average for pricing and I was surprised how many sales are listed on the front page every day. And some are a whole lot bigger than that...

They also are doing iPhone cases now, but I'm not sure how well that's catching on.

Thanks again, gotta go

that is a tomato horn worm, but it could be a tobacco horn worm too.. they are closely related and tear the heck out of tomato plants..(tobacco and tomatos are both in the nightshade family)

George - Thought that may be the case, but had to have some fun with it anyway. Thanks again, I definitely appreciate it.

Dane - I think you're right, don't have my book with me out here, it has pictures of many of the caterpillars. According to this it looks more like a Tobacco Hornworm. ID points are listed for both.

Here's a picture I got of one a few days ago, forgot to try and look it up. Nasty looking critter, but turns into a butterfly later on...
