Sounded good, except vocal was buried in the mix (at least on this video. I'd suggest you get a cleaner guitar sound during the 'soft part'. Kind of needed another instrument during the lead part, too, of course, but 4-piece is how you do it, so sounds good the way you are doing it.

We're working on having Johnny do the acoustic parts but he really just wants to sing. There's also keys on the original, so that's a lot of ground to cover as a four piece. I would love to find a utility guy that could play some keys and some guitar. Thanks for listening!

Yeah . . . well done as a four piece . . . those type of song have a lot of nuance that have to be taken into account.

Had some difficulty with that myself this past Saturday.

Seemed I just could not find the sweet spot volume and tone wise mid song on the changes.

But what the heck man, jam on . . . it's really all we can do at that point.

Well done.... I've never been much of a Tull fan but you guys did it pretty damn good. Agree on the vocals... but what i could hear it's a good one for his voice. 8)

Yeah the PA was not set up very well Friday, we're basically dumbasses when it comes to that. We had a blast anyway!

Not bad man, I love that main guitar riff, just killer.

Yea the acoustic would help the mid section.

On your pa, I cant tell from the recording cause I know it doesnt tell that well how you sound. but here goes

To me the vocals need to be on top a bit more, I want to hear the kick and snare better, the guitar sounds good, and the bass fits in nicely.

Do you mic your guitar?

Yeah I mic the guitar amp but again, the board was not set up right. We need to spend some time on it but time is not something I have a lot of right now. My main goals for the next month is to finish the new CD and get through the September shows. Maybe after that we can spend some time on the PA.

It's tough if you are running the sound yourself without a FOH guy. Jimmy - are you plugged in, or do you have a wireless? If you're plugged in, get a long cable and try to walk out front early and check the mix that way. Things can sound so different on stage with monitors and the reflections and the amps blasting at your legs.

Yea sat night I took my old Sunn Model T and our bassist stacked this old pa cab I use for it on his 4x10. He kept saying it didnt sound right, but later we got this other guy to play bass, and I use a wireless and went to the back with our bassist and he said man the bass sounds muddy on stage but sounds great out here.

Scott the other dude and I both use wireless's and go out and check at different times of the night to make sure the sound is good.

Sat was funny and this gal comes up, Im actually playing and talking to the club owner at the same time, this gal said is this thing on, I said strum it, and she did and heard herself, she said I bet you didnt think I would do that, I said I bet you didnt think I would let you yank on it either. The lady that owns the club was laughing so hard, I could hardly play straight!

No flute in "Aqualung", which allows us to half-ass cover it. Now tell us what you did with your flute at band camp.
