If you don't like it, run for office.

Else your political diatribe is about as useless as ever.

Do you think that the "squeaky wheel gets the oil" in this case or just IGNORED? Be realistic.

yod wrote:I have a t-shirt that says, "I didn't say it was your fault...I said I would blame you". That is exactly what happens if we talk about shutting down the government. It gives Democrats someone to blame for the things they have caused.

However, if we pit Obama against his own policies and laws (sequestration) it can legally be denied funding without a government shut down.

Obama has threatened to shut down the government if sequestration doesn't end. Most Democrats will never go along with that, but it would expose them all as the "bad guys" in a bad economy without anyone else to blame, and divide them as a party.

I think it's an excellent strategy, politically, because most people are not really keeping up with the details and only see the headlines.

But we don't really have the votes to shut down the government anyway so it's like a kid who sits down and sulks when they don't get their way. No one likes that kid, not even his mother.
what I pity are the poor saps signing up to some sort of medical insurance plan through the exchange (at an average I heard of $190.00 a month for crappy high deductible policy) and then when the Repukelicans take power (after Obama's basically failed effort to convince the masses of the need to sign up for coverage, ) the pukes will jack the price up for the coverage outtasight, and making it then unaffordable to many, but NOT ALLOWING you to cancel the policy..

Yod,

First let me say that I trust Boehner (the bane of the GOP) as far as I can throw the Titanic, but this is one case that I think he's doing the right thing

He is disallowing the shut down of the government now, for a fight on the budget in December that will expose the folly of spending so much money on this monstrosity called "health-care" but more appropriately called "Destruction of the American economy".

Now I will not continue but JB is a cowardly turncoat and a liar.. Even implying that not funding this health care debacle is the position of a coward. He is hiding behind the pretense or rather the demoncrat talking points that this will cause the government to shut down. His position is that of a coward fearing what might happen if he does the right thing by defunding it, which incidentally has nothing whatsoever to do with shutting down the rest of the government if ALL OTHER function are met except the health care portion. It is simply shutting off funds to that program alone.

To argue that defunding a bill that will take total control of the lives of Americans has anything to do with passing a budget or funding the rest of government is like comparing apples and oranges. One has nothing to do with the other. So you believe we should cower like the RINOS. for FEAR of what they may do. That is what John B is doing and that is what cowards do. They shrink back from doing what is right out of fear of retaliation.

You believe as you do, but I will disagree with you on this till the death, even if I do not address this again. I don't think your solution holds water. It will only embolden the oppressive regime into making more imperial presidential power grabbing moves. The more they unlawfully act and get away with it, the more their lawlessness shall increase.

I can promise that many who support funding this bill shall regret it dearly later when they see that they helped entrench it. No? tell me again a year or so from now when it can't be shut down because too many people helped implement it. (Some out of fear that it will shut down the government and make people mad at us, as JB and others falsely claim.)

So I guess time will tell. But I for one am not fearful of anything politicians shall or shall not threaten to do to me. I am a Christian, and I see evil for what it is, and I do not cower to it.

Like I said, I don't trust Boehner (or any politician for that matter) but what he proposed is still the best idea, I think.

We want the same thing, I just disagree with the strategy of appearing to be heartless, which is how it will be portrayed. On the other hand, as Boehner pointed out, sequestration is Obama's law and health care simply can not be funded under sequestration so it will have to be addressed and debated.

I'm not against some kind of health care consideration. What I am against is the way this one was written without debate by one party. That is fascism.

There are many provisions in it that will be disastrous and everyone will find out soon enough. Our economy has suffered greatly already because small businesses are being taxed out of existence, and big business won't hire anyone more than 29 hours to avoid the penalties in this monstrosity. It has caused record high unemployment already and it hasn't even been implemented.

But I think Dane has made a good point. It's not like Republicans could actually be trusted to do something better. We're getting abused from both sides with the whole sorry lot in DC

So all you're getting is theatre to make you think they consider you. NONE of them do.

Keep your trust where it's supposed to be and don't expect anything but lies & deception from the bastages in DC. You won't be disappointed that way.

Yod... You are a thinker. Here is the absolute bottom line truth. We The People, have allowed a few to become far more powerful than the rules and laws set out originally. We have allowed a class of people that are empowered to protect the jobs they have. We have a government that is using every tool available including a slow and insidious use of brainwashing. The proof of that is rampant... STARTING RIGHT HERE ON Band mix.

Now we have a new generation that is willing to submit in an effort to believe it will save their sorry behinds, or struggle to save what they think they are being allowed to keep.

Sadly it will only lead to their enslavement or demise...

This is NO LONGER A COUNTRY OF FREEDOM. It will become even worse.

I can hear some screaming even now... GLENNY IS FULL OF SHHIITT.

YEAH RIGHT!

Even right now, your vote in a "Democracy" is being undermined.
YOU DON'T MATTER. You are a non entity. Shut up, sit down, and keep paying your taxes. The thought is the same that always starts with a single being... when they are empowered.

Your vote don't mean squat. The deck is already stacked against WE THE PEOPLE.
Any one in government today is only concerned with CONTROL... To keep the certainty of being PAYED. At all cost.
Even worse are the compounding, cascading laws that are being written and enforced without any concern of the intent and rationality. If I have to go into example and detail... Stop reading this. You are the problem. You are the ones that sanction an omniscient, omnipotent government...

THAT GOES BACK TO THE DAYS OF KINGS AND QUEENS. Tyranny... comes in all forms.

America... POOOF. GONE.

like Dear Ole Obama said, "nobody should have to go broke by getting sick" I say let the Larry Ellisons and others of his ilk, that enjoy accumulating riches and thus hoarding the money supply, pay for the underclass in our society who have not a fair playing field to compete on..

I pity you if you can not see the need for some entity to look out for the little guy, Jesus said, the poor will always be among you, and you should take care of them.. matter of fact, Jesus come to earth to preach to the downtrodden and walked among them and took them as his associates because he knew what the heart was like of the rich in his day.. a blackheart.. back in early 1900's and thruout the 1800's we had what they called "poor folks home".. do you see any of those around today? hell no!.. the medical corporations have run them out of business and made laws to outlaw "po' folks homes".. in St. Louis the blackhearted rich and wealthy are now trying again to shut Larry rice down again in St. Louis, he provides a "po' folks home" and the evil rich bastards are trying to close it!!!!!!!!!!

Dane, I'm the poor guy..

And I'd love for something like that to occur but as usual, "if it seems too good to be true, it usually isn't true".

I see us having to pay big money and then not getting what is offered.

I mean this is exactly why we voted down socialistic medicine, right?
Doctors all want to get rich.

You know why being a DR in Canada isn't all that popular?
Socialist medicine. Can't get rich if the govt structures how the dr's get paid, right?

It's a great idea, it just be a flop because nobody is really behind it except for those who need it and you know, no one cares about the little guy.

USA where the dollars are large and so is your bill.
What? You don't like it? Then you learn to live without it.

Oh I am all for watching out for the little guy, I just don't think it's going to be successful or cost effective at all.

are you saying the doctors have forgot about the vow they took called the Hippcratic Oath? to practice honestly? how can you call desiring to be rich as a medical doctor is practicing medicine "honestly"?.. in the 1800's a couple dozen eggs was traded for some elixir in a glass to help the yellow fever you know.. they did not charge them a year's wages for a er visit! the dishonest bastards!.. I refuse to go to doctors today because they have broken their oath ./. I'd rather die than deal with dis-honest "businessmen called doctors

The Hippocratic oath is merely play on words at this point.

The dr's don't care, they just want the $.

I think like you do, the dr should be more concerned with the people but that's not the real truth anymore.

I don't think all dr's are like this, just most of the bastards.

When you go in for a office visit to make sure that you can get a renewal on your prescription and they charge you 75$ for a 10 minute visit and then give your the prescription, you know you just got hosed.

"Dr needs a new in ground pool" YEE HAW.. lol

I am going off-topic now a bit, but in revelance to how the RICH & WEALTHY take control of a state government study NORTH CAROLINA for the time being, see how they RE-DISTRICT the voting count and make it easy for them (the Republicans) to gain power illegally through manipulation of re-districting voting districts.. then see how they refuse medicaid to 600,000 new medicaid applicants that formerly were allowed to claim medicaid, and now are denied, see how they put a "TAX CAP" on purchase of a new yacht! who buys yahcts? the poor or wealthy? then see how they slash enemployment benefits in the name of BALANCING THE BUDGET all the while slashing taxes the wealthy formerly paid to make the budget balanced in the first place! once again, I reiterate, without moral discipline taught by religion of any flavor, you lose the natural affection of one wealthy human pitted against the poor and destitute... not a level playing field anymore.. anybody need me to explain that the playing field is level is a nutter...
