I've seen stuff like that over the years. It's always impressive.

One of the joys of playing guitar is the variety of styles available. We can all find something that speaks to us and moves us to practice and play.

Sorry Jimmy, that one is above my pay grade. :D I do enjoy that piece though.

When I was in college I had the good fortune of being invited to a private performance and music student workshop with Andre Segovia. He was in LA for a series of concerts and one of our music profs "encouraged" him to spend an hour with us and take some questions. It was pretty sweet and Segovia even played one of my friends classical guitars. Maybe should have had him autograph it for all time.

A little taste of the master:

I'll stay in the cheap seats and applaud those who can...
That was excellent.

Here's a renditions of Mozart's Lacrimosa on Guitar... not perfect... but to play all of those voices on one instrument pretty amazing attempt.

Thanks for humbling me Jimmy.

Not my cup of tea, but impressive.

Im kinda regressing into rock punk a billy mentality these days, like my favorite band the Farleys!

Ha ha punk hillbillies, that's us! You're going to love "I Got The Herpes On Craigslist".

Regarding these great classical guitarists, it's amazing to watch someone at that level but it's even more amazing to think about the composer writing that music: what an accomplishment for a mere mortal. The genius of the music of Bach is that it can be played on ANY instrument and still work and and be wonderful.

meh..

good pieces, but if you're gonna go neo-classical / classical check out paganini's caprice 5.

Lots of METAL guitar gods have played their own versions / interpretations of it, but "little Stevie Vai's" version takes the cake.

He wasn't even that good back then!

I played like this for a few years, or at least trained to. My middle digits, (right hand), were knackered owing to years of stone carving making them less responsive, so I guess I created my own shattered style.
There are some great guitar players on this list, take a look at some, also some greats that many will not have heard of. I watched some Mexican guy walk the wall with a Spanish guitar some years ago. He didn't think he was great, but was truly and totally talented.
It's a shame folks do not want this kind of thing in numbers these days, but that is the way things are going.
Great post Jimmy.
