Hope you are paying, rather than looking for bands to bring in their own covercharge-paying customers.

Best bet is to advertise on craigslist locally, as not many bands are coming to these forums looking for gigs.

And the ones here are wise to the bad bar practices in this area.

I.e. We don't pay to play or think we deserve to be cheated.

Goto craigslist, you can scam those dummies more easily than here.

Notice: they don't even mention the bar name.. Big tip besides the owner asking for karaoke on a musician website.

I bet they water down the booze, too.

A dime in the hand beats a buck on an IOU.

I often found those sort of cheesy gigs to be pretty entertaining in a lot of ways. If you played it right (a situational thing) they'd love you and you could take all kinds of liberties. Ranged the gamut from biker bars to fraternities. I preferred the bikers...sigh. 8)

Sometimes you might even get paid. I think of the times that stressed out party throwers would engage a band (sometimes mine) and at the last minute ask us if we'd do it as a benefit for the 'kids.' We had a rough tough agent in those days, "Pack the sh*t!" Was his answer, always. We'd usually end up playing the gig...

To the OP.

Got a band, we will play for $100 a man at your venue, of course since we live so far we will need to be compensated for travel. Also, do you provide the pa and back line, if not then it will cost more to get our equipment up there.

If you have any interest, just pm thru here, I can get the mileage and exactly what it would cost to get us up there, we would want 2 thirds in advance and the balance between our second and last set.

I also prefer the bikers. Never had a problem with them and they always really appreciated the music. I can't even remember a fight breaking out in a biker bar but a lot of other clubs had prize fights.

The winner got to take home the girl with the tooth.

Slacker the biker events Ive played thru the years were great, I mean they paid us what we asked, at one they paid us to play over, gave us food and all we could drink, and if anyone messed with us, they handled it.

Then there was the one with the stripper poles on either side of the stage, our singer was pissed cause he was in the middle, LOL!

Personally I have nothing but good things to say about bikers and thier events where they have entertainment.

I wouldnt mind doing a few more, now that you mention it!

I've played at the local Jokers MC club a few times. Just keep your hands off their bikes and their women and everything will be fine.
