You may not have asked, but you took it when it was given.
You sure aren't gonna find a bunch of college-age (or older) women who want to join your 'band' here on these forums.

Mike- Yeah, I know that. I think when I put the original up I assumed the odds were about 100 to 1. At this point I would say the odds are about the same as winning the lottery.

I'm thinking of putting in "For Amusement Purposes Only".

For some reason that tickled my funny bone!

I don't know where this conversation is right now, I honestly just read the first page, but I am a woman, and I just have to say that you should maybe try wording your add in a way that doesn't sound sexist. When you start out with a sentence that makes you look like you think ladies are all stupid (don't know their guitar strings) they're just going to think you're being a dick (no offense) and skip over it. Telling people that they're stupid doesn't make them want to work with you, and I think that may be your problem.

I clicked because I thought it was kinda funny, but not every woman is going to think that. I would offer to help you out, but I don't have any money to go anywhere.

That's ok, strippers make lousy musicians and most people don't want to work with women because of the DRAMA and BULLSHIT that is involved at that point.

It's a band, not a sewing circle.

Reminds me of that whack ass video with Robert Palmer and his bevy of non-instrument playing fluff girls.

Nah, pass on that sh*t.

You sound like a cool chick who 'gets it'. Good luck with your bandmate search. These forums are no good for that, but make sure you include contact info in your profile.

LOL Mike you need to see her video, you'll soon change your tune, if not the contents of your stomach.

I guess sometimes it's good I can't see videos at work?! Of course, like driving by a bad accident, now I HAVE to look (when I get home!)

High school amateur, not stomach turning (quite). Someone needs to buy her a tuner for that Tele. The guy in the back on guitar - don't know what the hell he's doing, it sounded real bad to start.

@mobius strips- Joy, if you didn't care for the ad you read you should have read the original before I changed it. It was originally titled "girls who know their e-strings from their g-string". Seems some people missed the humor in that, and went straight for the eyes.

As you can see, people like to find fault when they see an opening to do so- but hey, musicians can be a cranky bunch. Thanks for the comment though, and keep up with your music.

I did put a disclaimer at the beginning of the video about it only being the second time we practiced it. It's not my fault if you neglected to read it . It was also the very end of practice, so if the guitars are a little out of tune, that's why.

Joy, don't take things said on these forums too personally. I saw the video and it does show promise. You do have a nice voice so that's a big plus. Just shake it off- just keep going with your music. I'd have a spot for you but Baltimore is just like- out of state. :)

No, I did read your disclaimer. Tune up before every song, if you need to, and keep working it! All of us were at your learning stage at one time or another.
