Kickstarter gives the donor nothing (unless the artist decides to reciprocate), whereas with pledge.com, donors get something for their investment and don't actually give any money until the 100% goal is reached.
It actually looks like Kickstarter and Pledge are nearly identical in how they operate. Both have tons of rewards available to donors (completely defined by the artists) so donors do get something in return for their pledge if they wish and no money changes hands until the goal is reached. Same concept exactly. Maybe take another look Mike.
Bloodgood is now 2 wks into their Kickstart campaign and already at $10K so the outlook is good to reach their goal by Aug 7th. I am not a huge fan of their music but still wish them well in this project. It is pretty rare for Oz and Les to start a project they can't finish and I suspect this album will be true to form. It is interesting to watch this process unfold.
