Anyway, prompted me to write the following lyrics this morning (work in progress). This will be a hard-rocking song, I think.
URBAN MAYHEM
Verse 1 A shot rings out on a humid city night
Is any bystander really innocent?
Another life taken, it can’t be right
One more name added to the list of dead men
Verse 2 Man, woman, child, lying in a pool of red
No reasons for a family in tears
Sun comes up on another day of dread
People hiding away, a city in fear
Chorus Urban chaos! Urban mayhem!
Verse 3 What does a single life mean in a place gone insane
Anyone could be another Einstein or King
But not when life’s wasted as if poured down the drain
It’s a downhill spiral and we’re all losing
Chorus
Bridge Madness and hatred – make it go away
Peace and love – let it see the light of day
Passion and compassion – have to be the right way
Help your fellow man – today is the day!
