I will also say this. The only individual here who DID have the right idea, and there are not enough of them on this board, nor on Baton Rouge Rocks, was ErikJ on page 1. That is the kind of attitude I was hoping more people would have. But instead, right after that, this thread got infected.

Well, maybe, but not to ask for anymore help, because you guys have made that clear, and all most of you guys such as VinnyViolin, and Crip2Nite want to do is just aggravate people, either that, or aggravate me, because you guys think you are so badass for some reason.

Guys like you shouldn't be allowed to use the internet if you are going to bully one person, but be nice to whole bunch of others who like the exact same music you like, and who have the exact same goals you have, and who love to show off just how much experience they have, instead of being humble individuals.

Again, it's because of people like the ones who just pooped all over me in this topic, and continue to do so even after I've said I'm going, that what few people who couldv'e helped are just away. You guys should show a little bit of shame.

I'll leave you guys to do whatever you wish with this topic, and leave you guys to think about what you guys have just done.

Yet you post 3 more times ater saying this - don't you get it - YOU are the troll.

Vinnie - some funny pictures there.

Crip - some really gross ones!

How many times do I have to say this! I am NOT the troll here. I am the victim. A troll is someone who intentially does things to stir up trouble, whether it's a mass troll, someone who annoys people in every single topic, or a person who picks on one particular person. I NEVER had such intent here or anywhere. I was raised to know better. I had some very decent and innocent questions, and you guys just trashed me.

And no one is going to want to come to a forum where there are individuals on the forum constantly picking on one particular guy instead of minding their own business.

Another thing that's makes me sad about all this is that I'll find out that the guy who's suggesting a decent website or venue, I'll find out that he has no experience using it.

What happened to communities where individuals on the forum are respectful of each other's music tastes, talk about each other's experiences at various music forums, and venues, so they'll know what's right for them, and share information about bands that play the music a given individual likes within their area?

Yes, trolls and bullying is a common thing on the internet everywhere, but the amount of it I've run into at the places that were said to be good places to make connections and make friends, and learn about the things I mentioned above is just saddening. And on top of that, whenever I try to stand up to someone who didn't even listen, I get accused for being the troll, and that person praises the individuals who were messing with me.

And usually this is over something very minor. Like me turning down a suggested forum that a person promised was good, but who didn't back it up with experience or tell me how I can make the best use of the website.

I'm sorry if any of my posts upset you guys. I didn't know that i was such a bother.

I just wanted to expand my scope and places to advertise, and get the word out more. Why is that such a crime?

And on top of that, all of this is because a few people are holding a grudge over something I did when I was on here sometime before, when they threw out a bunch of random suggestions, and I had legit reasons for turning them down.

That's what you guys are doing. Why? Why can't you guys just leave well enough alone?

Talk to me so I can understand you a little better as a person. Why are you giving me the third degree over something that's very minor?

And back on page one, what was the deal with all the Lady Gaga hate? Why did you pick her out of ALL of the various artists I enjoy?

Also what is with all the music communities I've checked out online having members on them that just want to make sick jokes? And who are easily put off by very simple things. For example, like how a lot of you guys acuse me of being a troll or acuse me of making excuses or acuse me of being ungreatful when someone gives out a reccommendation, but doesn't take the time to share his experience with the suggestion and compare my goals to his goals so I'll know if it's right for me.

As I siad, the one person who had the right attitude, and I wish there were individuals like her on here, as well as on Baton Rouge Rocks, is ErikJ. No, she didn't do anything to help, but she didn't resort to any of the other stuff that's gone on in this forum.

But anyway, all you trolls made it clear. No one can help. So I won't be on this forum for awhile. I'll see if this whole mess can die down, and maybe see what happens in the fall. Summer is usually the time when people go on summer vacation so that could explain why my Guitar Center ad hasn't gotten any love.

Another factor that contributes to why my requests don't get enough attention is the amount of people who are into the kind of music I enjoy is very slim in my area, and most everybody on the sites that are advertised as being good places to search they want to form bands, and want to do gigs, whereas I'm a guy who wants to expand his sound a little, and learn how to do mixing and recording, but from a best friend standpoint, rather than from a working musician standpoint.

I've pretty much ran out of places to search. All the obvious spots attract a bunch of trolls, and the usual individuals who want to fomr bands and make money playing music or those who have a music job.

Another thing I'll find out is that some of these places that I'm told that are good places I can find my audience, I set out to prove them wrong, and there's usually a feature that prevents me from effectively reaching my desired audience. For example, Craigslist as a whole is a general ad posting site, and only a small handful of people in my area post in any given section, and from there, it doesn't have a good system that allows me to talk with the people as a whole reading my ad.

This site probably doesn't attract the audience I'm trying to reach because they discover that you cannot contact people for free, and so they delete their account.

The places I need to be are probably not going to be easily found by the masses, and may be sites and message boards that are only spread through word of mouth rather than through major search engines, and advertised by major companies.

I don't understand why, but I've been seeing this site advertised a lot on YouTube. It's a banner ad in rotation that pops up I'll see on some videos. Why is that?

Another thing I'll run into a lot in this search are people who claim to be interested or who will say they'll keep their eyes open and help me look, but I'll discover later that the person gave up music and moved away from my Louisiana and/or Baton Rouge.

I also find it odd how a lot of people who were helping me out in my search were helping me in very inappropriate ways, and weren't considerate of certain things. Most notably, a lot of them were into heavy metal, hard rock, and 70s classic rock or getting help from an individual who isn't around a whole lot of guys around my age who like pop or soft rock, or the given person woudl reccommend something that he didn't have any experience with. And the ones who I thought would be more promising individuals to help, either didn't have the time, or they fell for all the crap I did online, and ignored me.

I have yet to come across any guys around my age who are proud to say that they enjoy listening to and/or playing music by Madonna, Adam lambert, Richard Marx, or any of my favorites. I'm always coming across those who hide behind a wall of masculinity, or conisder the pop genre as a whole to be crappy music or not very complex music.
