WE CAN'T HELP YOU!!

Shouldn't you have been at work by now? And again, what is with you guys using the word "we", as in EVERYBODY on this board which includes the individuals on here who don't post a lot?

People on Baton Rouge Rocks eventually started to do the same thing instead of referring to themselves individually.

And also you've got to remember there are many different ways a given person can help. I gave some hints in some of the earlier posts. But everytime I do, they are just ignored completely in favor of the guy making a mockery out of me.

Whoops! I was trying to type fast since a lot of people on these boards respond before I can post a response. If you know what I intended to put there, why make a huge deal about it? That's just like the people who correct someone using "your" in place of "you're".

I'll bet that's what you say to all the guys, when standing in the middle of a restroom wearing that white glove on one hand!

Again! What is the deal with all these stereotypical views of being gay? Why do most guys always assume that all gays love butts?

And what is with the Michael Jackson obsession, and restrooms?

What about your stereotypical assumption that bus riders are "shady characters" ?

And as you very well know, Michael Jackson was not gay ... he just liked to be around little kids a lot.

I did not mention anything about "gay". But you have said you are gay, and you are the only one who was asking about assholes. ... what are we to think? :?

At least a white glove might impart some semblance of hygiene into these lurid speculations!

Why do I run into so many crazed people on the internet? No matter where I go, I can't seem to get ANYTHING done. I'm either running into people who are clueless, trolls, people who think they know how to help, but don't, and start looking up whatever they can find on Google, and expect me to try their reccommendation blindly. Instead of being part of a community that shares ideas, talks about some of their favorite artists, shares their experiences at a given venue or website (both good and bad) and who are smart enough to stay within their own little sections. For example, all the hard rockers are in one section, and all the pop dudes are in another section.

Again, Vinny, I did not say anything about bus riders being shady characters. In the post you quoted, I was referring to people that attend bars and clubs in my area. A lot of those places are holes in the wall.

You want to know the real reason why MJ wore that white glove? He was said to suffer from a skin condition where he was losing the pigment in his skin. It's called vitiligo, and it's a rare condition.

I never suggested that you go to a bar or club. Most Greyhound stations happen to be excellent examples of our American 1930's-40's architectural heritage.

Only legally blind, do not confuse the term with being legally blind. and it's only important to mention for transportation purposes. The person who I will be playing music with will need to be able to drive, and live in an area of Baton Rouge where he doesn't take too long to get to where I live, and back to his place. And that is no excuse. Talking to others who have tried the given suggestion and found success would mean a lot more to me.

Yeah, but you STILL didn't show any consideration for the places where I'd like to start searching. You just through out something random without any thought whatsoever.

I'm trying to reach guys who take a few courses at a college, and have their own car, and who just happen to play pop and soft rock music for enjoyment. Not the traveling musicians. I'm also trying to reach guys around my age who have good parents that brought them up well.

The people throwing out these suggestions come off as individuals who have had a very hard life, or who are really rich and can afford to buy all the top-notch equipment they need for their band.

And also they reccommend ONLY things that work for them, and not listening to me when I tell them that their suggestion won't work for me due to how serious they are about music.

I did show such consideration! I would suspect you were blind if you had not already told us so! Bus stations just happen to be full of pop fans, some of them drive and have cars but are taking the bus because their car is temporarily in the repair shop and they are not so wealthy as to be able to afford a rental car. You act as if you have already "been there and done that" but obviously you have not!

As for being not too serious about music ... my credentials on this forum in that respect are impeccable. Nobody at BM has ever accused me of being a serious musician! And none of the suggestions I have ever recommended to you, could ever work for ME!

You just seem so ungrateful, no wonder young guys with only a casual interest in music would want to avoid such incessant negativity!

Again, bus stations may be full of "pop" fans, but that's not an appropriate place to meet musicians around my age in an intimate environment where I can easily audition them, and post ads, and do other activities such as play video games.

All I asked for was some places online that I could check out based on other's experiences, and maybe learn about some bands and solo artists in my area that I could check out.

And I was not acusing YOU of being a serious musician. It's just that people I've talked to on this site and Baton Rouge Rocks give the impression that they are snooty and stuck up rocker dudes who love to brag about how much experience they have and reccommend any old place, and don't back it up with their own experiences, and either just reccommend the first thing they find on Google, reccommend the places that worked for them, and their music tastes, or reccommend a place where it's too hard to reach my intended audience.

I'm looking for someone with specific qualities. A bus station is just as bad as reccommending Craigslist. Why? Because it's too general. It's not specific to any given music community.

I hate it when people try to justify their suggestion the way you did as well, and make it seem cool, or safe, when in reality it is not one of the greatest ways to search.

On top of that, I don't live on my own. I still live with my parents, so I currently have no need to use a bus station. And the chances of me coming across any musicians around my age are VERY slim. Because again, bus stations are not specific enough. It it attracts all sorts of people.
