Hmmmm, I wonder what the common denominator in all this could be...

Roo says "Denial is not a river in Egypt."

Quit spitting out cliches, and posting that really annoying kangaroo picture.

And I already pointed out what the common denominaotor was. Dealing with a bunch of trolls, and snooty and stuck up hardcore rocker musicians who are only interested in doing gigs and getting paid to play in bands, and who want to get into music to live the "rocker" lifestyle, and go to parties to get drunk, or get girls, when I'm trying to reach the individuals who are simply looking for a buddy to play with who just happens to share similar music tastes, and to learn some new skills from.

It isn't as people oh so convienelty put it "me". I'm trying to find something special, not the usual.

I need some pointers on how to reach the opposite of that. Have you even bothered to thoroughly go over my post and show be considerate when responding? Because whenever I talk to someone on here, or on Baton Rouge Rocks, or Craigslist, the person responding gives the impression that he just skimmed over the post or is overwhelmed by all the information, and is rushing to type up his own response.

This brings up another thing. When people respond to my request, whether it was posted online or at a physical music store, the people that responded weren't very smart. They usually assumed I wanted to join a full blown band, when I would put right in the ad that I'm looking for a buddy who shares my passion for some of the artists listed in the ad, and just plays for enjoyment. Someone who isn't playing in a committed band or gigging/working band. Why can't I reach people who are smart enough to review my request in full, and respond according to what the ad states?

Have you tried dressing up like Michael Jackson, with a white glove on one hand, and hanging around the restrooms at the Greyhound station?

See? This is what I'm talking about! That is pathetic and you know it. Stop turning everything into a sick joke! It's NOT cute or funny!

You are wasting my time by doing that, when I could be spending quality time talking to someone who is much more down to earth, and respectful of others.

Remember, sir, I'm looking for a guy who is a talented keyboard player in his 20s, and has a passion for playing a variety of pop and soft rock music, 80s to the present, and in addition to jamming to some great pop and soft rock songs, I'm looking for someone who has a good solid understanding of music theory, and has a good recording and mixing studio setup at his apartment or house. And thus someone who as a best firned, can show me how to recreate some of my favorite electronic based music tracks, and others.

The method you suggest is just ridiculous, and I would reach the wrong audience. I would reach a bunch of shady characters who probably can't even play a lick of music.

Has it occurred to you that none of us know, nor care to know, how to do this "thing" you're wanting to do. So why be disappointed when we don't / can't help you?

You aren't going to get help here pal.

Get over yourself - step outside the house once in a while and talk to real people.

I would step outside the house if I knew some appropriate places to check out, but I don't. And why didn't some of y'all speak up as individiausl and state from the get go whether you guys could help or not? Why does everybody on sites like these have to speak as a group, and say "We can't help you".

Again, part of what I'm looking for requires the given person who's helping me requires the individual to first compare his goals and music tastes to mine. If he has to trash the music I love while helping me, he's out, or if he says to drop the whole friendship thing, he's not the right person to help either.

Also if he has to look up something on Google, without backing it up with his own experiences, and sharing his success story, then he's also not the right person to help.

I ran into this same exact problem on previous sites like Baton Rouge Rocks and Craigslist, where the people helping me didn't show any consideration for the kind of help I needed, and instead, looked up whatever they could find on Google, and told me to try it. And very few of them were nice enough to spread the word regarding what I'm looking for.

So far, this is the ONLY music site I've found that has most of the key features I need in order to accomplish what I'm looking for, i.e. a place to create a profile, and post some samples of what I do, and a place to talk and learn about various things relating to all things music.

Quit saying "we". Use the singular, "I". That way, I'll know that you're not referring to this community as a whole.

The reason I say that is because just because the regulars can't help doesn't mean there's a more low key individual on here who might be able to. The same thing probably held true on Baton Rouge Rocks. The regulars on that board would all speak with one voice, and a given individual would refer to himself as "we" rather than "I".

I can accept when one person says that he can't help. But when someone refers to himself as "we", that's unacceptable, and not cool.

Just stop talking! You are wasting my time. Wasting time that I could be spending talking to individuals who can help me out in my search somehow. Individuals who know how to be gentleman, and who don't mess with me. Of course, these individuals are probably going to avoid this topic due to me trying to stand up to a bunch of trolls like you.

Well, he is, as has always been the case with others on here and on Baton Rouge Rocks who thought they knew how to help, but didn't show any consideration for my goals, my music tastes, and everything. The same thing goes for all the people that responded to my physical copy of my ad I places at Guitar Center, who didn't have enough sense to check to see if he wasn't already in a band or trying to get his music on the radio.

I'm talking about reaching someone who is much more low key, and simply takes a few college courses, or has a part time job, and plays music as a hobby, but who is still good at it, and is looking for a friend who shares his passion for pop and soft rock music.

As noted somehwere else earlier in this topic, I stated that the places where I've been looking whether online or in person are probably not frequented by the individuals I'm trying to reach, or the person I'm trying to reach probably doesn't know about the places where I've posted these ads.
